Good job Texas.

http://radio.woai.com/cc-common/mainheadlines3.html?feed=119078&article=10700507

A Texas lawmaker says he plans to file the Firearms Protection Act, which would make any federal laws that may be passed by Congress or imposed by Presidential order which would ban or restrict ownership of semi-automatic firearms or limit the size of gun magazines illegal in the state

"If a federal official comes into the state of Texas to enforce the federal executive order, that person is subject to criminal prosecution," Toth told 1200 WOAI's Joe Pags Tuesday. He says his bill would make attempting to enforce a federal gun ban in Texas punishable by a $50,000 fine and up to five years in prison.

Why is it that people (such as Texan politicians) love to flaunt their mental ineptitude?

Sounds good. And while we're at it let's throw the other federal, and state officials in jail, regardless of their stance on gun control.

If I recall correctly, the poster above you is a Texas constituent.

Your answer to why they perform actions/make threats such as this likely lies within his response.

I agree with you that they are very strict on drug laws which is wrong, but other than that they are a great state. Best gun laws, cheap land/houses, very business friendly, etc.

So would I! I wish they weren't necessary. If the US military and police forces disarm, I'll think about giving mine up. The potential for abuse of power is always there, so weakening the already weak position of the people when it comes to armaments isn't the answer. Unfortunately we don't live in a perfect world, and the US Constitution is what has held this country together in an imperfect world all these years. There is a reason that the right to bear arms, which is not to be infringed, is the 2nd Amendment. Not the 4th, not the 10th, not the 822nd. The 2nd. The strength of the US is it's population. Making it harder for innocents to get their guns and ammo because a few sick freaks did some things is obviously not the answer. Anyone with a conscience should know that.

Well, technically, any cop who's ever enforced a law that contradicts the constitution, is a criminal. Plus, they're not even doing their job, considering that they all have to take an oath to uphold the constitution. Something that they obviously don't take seriously, or even think about.

We want less violence and death and we're sick freaks? Oh and must people who want better gun laws has no interest in taking most guns way from law abiding citizens who use the properly. Suggesting that federal agent should be prosecuted for enacting laws is ridiculous.

It wasn't and the Constitution has been changed numerous times throught history. Why is the second amendment immune from evolution as well? It's like nuclear weapons, we can't get rid of them all, but that didn't stop this country and others from reducing their arsenals under the START treaties. You have to start somewhere or else it'll never get done!

Japan is fine with it's gun laws, the UK is fine with it's gun laws, etc. This government take over you're fantasizing about doesn't nor will it every exist. We are striving to become a "more perfect union" and that starts will not letting our gun culture consume us to the point where having a specific type of firearm is more important then simple safety measures.

Anything that infringes on the ability of law-abiding citizens to obtain something that is a constitutional right is a violation. There are literally dozens of existing violations, and a whole bunch of new ones that Obama is pushing for. Where shall we start?

This is the difference between you and me hart, I'll continue to fight for a utopia because that would be an ideal situation for humanity. You'll just grab your guns and stamp your feet, all the while continuing to perpetuate the very things that prevent a utopia from being possible!
