Yeah, another topic about Tha Carter III.

Here we discuss this album, as oppose to just saying Lil Wayne sucks or Lil Wayne is the Best. Song by song. What's your favorite track? What's your least favorite track? Favorite Lines? Criticisms? Compliments? etc...

I'll start.

3 Peat: Starts a bit slow but turns out to be a great intro to the album. Favorite Line: "...I just do this [stuff] for my click like Adam Sandler, I control Hip-Hop and I keep it on my Channel"

Mr Carter: Jay-Z's verse is the best part of the song. Lil Wayne's verse immediately following Jay's is hard, though. The one thing I don't like is the slo mo effect right before Jay comes on. I can't make out what Wayne is saying here.

Post your thoughts about these tracks or any other track on Tha Carter III and we'll talk about it.

Try to keep it civil. No blanket statements if you haven't actually listened to the album.

My favorite line is in the song where Little Wayne says "50 Cent is better than me lol owned". That line is so amazingly true!

Dr. Carter and A Millie are my favorite songs off of The Carter III, but I like all of them except for La La and Playing with Fire or something like that(I don't know if those are the songs' names I just believe that's what they're called).

I thought the album was slightly below average. Tha Carter II >>> That Carter III. Wayne needs to get off the weed, coke, and whatever the hell he said he was taking and get back to spitting lines that actualy make sense.

Mr.Carter, though I think Lil Wayne sucks, it was a great song, though it didn't have that great lyrics, most of his lyrics are terrible so it is a nice change :P.

Zombieman666:

Tie My Hands is a very good song. It should silent those "He's only about Sex and Money" people for a little bit. Misunderstood is actually called "Dontgetit". It was interesting to hear his thoughts on...life, but sometimes I think he should just rapped and put the speech on a blog or on the bonus CD or something.

Sluggo:

That's ok. I'm not the type of guy who flames other people for not sharing my views. But why?

tenczas9:

Which song was that? I can't believe I missed it.

ligerz76:

La La is the weakest song on the album. Not even the great Busta Rhymes could save it. The beat is just too weird, I guess. Playing with Fire is meh. Not horrible, not great. It's ballsy, though. I have to give him credit for that.

I wouldn't say that I flamed you...but after listening to Wayne's albums with The Boys, his mix tapes, and the Carter, his music isn't the same anymore. Well it is, but it isn't. It sounds more like uninspired pop music.

It was the good song that I heard by Little Wayne. Do you wonder why i call him Little instead of Lil'? Neither do I.

I wasn't accusing you of flaming me. I know you weren't. I just felt the need to say that I don't flame. Anyway, people say his previous albums are better. That may be true, but that doesn't mean that this one is bad. IMO, the album is varied, unique, and on its own merits, quite good. I walked into this album with low expectations, whereas it sounds like you walked in with high expectations. That might explain why we see differently on this issue.

It's not really that kosher to bump your own threads, especially when there has been numerous Carter III threads in the last month.

My favorite songs are Shoot Me Down, 3Peat, and Mr Carter. I'm not really that big into rap, but I like those songs.

I don't like the Carter III as an album since the only songs I like from it are Shoot Me down, Mr Carter, and Dr Carter.

Dr. Carter might be the best song on the album. (I still don't have a favorite). It's not the first song to be done completely in metaphor (See Common's "I used to love H.E.R or Jay-Z's "I Know"). The doctor angle is still very clever. It mixes the message of "You can't hold the Torch" by Busta Rhymes with the Crescendo style in "One Mic" by Nas. My one complaint with the song is that in the second verse he gives credit to Young Jeezy. I, personally, don't like Jeezy. Aside from that, brilliant track.

Extremely overrated/hyped album IMO. It was decent, but I have seen much better.

The only track I liked on it was Mr. Carter, i thought it was meh until Hov came on.

This song is the best on the album: http://youtube.com/watch?v=HNWI2ApdmlE

Besides that, Playing with fire, Let the beat build, Mr.Carter, Dr.Carter, Milli, Lollipop, Whip it, Misunderstood, Phone Home, 3 Peat are all very good songs. Wayne can do alot better though but his whole album leaked twice. Despite that the album does have its shareof gems and sadly filler like La La, Nothin on Me and Mrs. Officer. I give the CD 8.5

His next rap album will blow this one away.

"Got summer hatin on me cuz Im hotter than the sun, spring hatin on me cuz Im never sprung, Winter hatin on me cuz Im colder than yall and I will never, I will never, I will never fall. Im being hated by the seasons so F yall that hate for no reason."

Firstly, Nothin' on Me is actually You Ain't Got Nuthin'.

Secondly, That's one of my favorite songs. Fabolous and Julez killed it. Three verses of Fire. The song got better and better as it went on. We can have a heated debate on this track alone about who had the best verse. As for the other songs you listed, Mrs Officer does feel unnecessary with Comfortable on there. And La La is a very weak track. Lollipop gets the club going, but its barely a song except for that one line: "Better wear that latex, you don't want that late text, that 'I'm late' text"

Oh and Prostitute 2..love that ish. Me and my drank is also really good but thats not C3. You aint got nothin on me isn't actually bad its just oooold and far from an average wayne verse really lol. He murked that Don't touch me remix. Thats a real wayne verse. Universal picked tracks for C3 and sort of brought down its value a little by doing so.
