That small pocket on jeans

What is the purpose of that tiny pocket on jeans? You know the one inside the right pocket. I can't think of any useful purpose for it. I remember Apple talking a few years back about how they finally found a reason for its existence because they could fit the iPod Nano in it. So what do you use it for?

Money pocket. I use it to keep my 50ps in :P

It's designed to keep pens in. :) Jeans were originally invented after all for workers. That's why the older ones have all kinds of random pockets and straps for resting your hammer on. Doctor-McNinja

when i still had a walkman (the one that used cassette tapes) I would always hook it into that pocket because it was a snug fit and it wouldn't move around much when i was walking.

as for pens in that pockets, i guess that would work as long as you don't sit down. anything in that pocket tends to jam into you when you sit down.

in general, i would say that the pocket is impractical in its practicality.
