A couple months ago, you could submit your favorite ten movies to the site...I think there might have been some input from critics, too, but I dunno how that worked.

I'm not thrilled with the list...there are too many movies from the past few years (which was to be expected with how they decided the list). And #1 was a pretty generic choice.JML897

you checked out all 500? how? it makes you click and load each page. Is there just a straight text list version.

The only recent movie I saw that I thought didn't belong was "Superman Returns" I only hope "Superman the Movie" was up higher somewhere on the list.

Oh ok, i am quite dissapointed but i guess if that was the method of how they came up with the list it was to be expected. Physcho #45? wtf?

The list was up a day or two ago, I saw it then. I didn't go through every single one, but that's the general impression I received.

Besides the odd film, the top 11 is crap

okay... I have a few things I want to point out about the list...

1) One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - #105? Oh hell no, that should be miles higher! Probably top 15 IMO
2) Papillon and The Alamo are not even on this list (from what I saw) - What the hell is up with that? Two of the best movies of all time not even on the top 500?
3) Black Hawk Down? One of the most kick ass war movies ever made, it doesnt even appear...!

But there are a few things that I do agree with: Shawshank Redepmtion at #4? Top 5, where it should be
Terminator 2 at #35? Possibly my favourite movies of all time.. Im happy where it is, but it should have been a little higher.
Donnie Darko at #53? Awesome movie!

Why the hell isn't The General even in the top 100 (can't be bothered checking if it's lower), easily top 10 material. Brazil should be way higher too.

In fact, the list is pretty off all round.

Was anyone else happy about the fact that TDK wasn't number 1? Anyway, I like Godfather 2 more than 1 so I don't fully agree with this list, it wasn't completely nuts though.

I'm not going to argue against The Godfather being on the list, or in the Top Ten, but a lot of the movies in that list were legitimately horrible ones. Like Superman Returns.Greatgone12

Wait...aren't you the guy who said that you didn't even plan to see TDK? Sorry mate, but you can't judge a movie by it's trailers.

Aliens in the Top 30. Not bad.
I can't really comment on the rest of the list. I was just seeing where Aliens came. :P

agree's on the godfather thing. I liked part 2 alot more. I think psycho deserved a better spot

It's too mainstream, but there are so many pleasant surprises that I can't call it worthless.

I was pleasently surprised by some of the films that appeared like Burnett's Killer Of Sheep but on the whole the list was not very good. Why are Transformers and 300 on this list? The Dark Knight should have barely made the list, if at all. All three were entertaining films but most of the films on the list didnt belong on the greatest anything.JackMcSexbeard

I actually enjoyed them while I was in the theater, but I'd never bother with them again.

That said, you'd never expect Transformers and Au Hasard Balthazar to be on the exact same list...

Oh, no. 1 was a boring, generic disappointment. At least my no. 1 made it to the top 5. I wish they'd make a simple list for those people who can't be arsed to look through the list in 10 at a time (everyone.)

Depends on what praise you mean. That it's the best movie ever? I disagree. That it's an all-time classic and one of the best movies ever. I agree. I liked it, though I'm not as huge a fan as everyone else seems to be...
