I'm just hoping to get some feedback on this theory I was thinking about. For this theory to be possible then two criteria must be met:
Intelligent life in space
A realistic method to travel vast stretches of space
Now assume for a second that both coexist somewhere in space. Now think of our global food situation. Now what would be the solution humanity would seek when overpopulation threatens our ability to feed the masses? Why, seed another planet of course! Think about it, this would probly be one of the options that the world will look to a couple centuries from now. All you need is a atmospheric processor (got the idea from Aliens) to arrive on an earth like planet (mars) and have it process the atmosphere until the planet could support a resilient organism that produces oxygen. Then yoou seed the planet with said organism and once it is habitable enough for livestock then some would be imported to this world sized "farm".
Now heres the kicker: What if we are already on this "farm" but for other beigns? This is when the criteria mentioned above come into play. Assume for a second that both are met, this theory could be utilised to explain mass extinctions, signs that such extinctions are of space origin, UFOs and heck, unexplainable divine intervention. And a final note: If said beings have any sense of humour, maybe it is in the form of this popular saying: God is our sheperd, we are his flock.
Discuss.
