The banning of a moderator

I've been wondering for a while... what would happen if a moderator got banned? (this isn't a question, mods, read the entire post)

The way I see it, it would have to be epic. After all, moderators rarely, if ever, get banned. When normal users get banned, their profile page just gets changed to the banhammer message. There aren't any clever messages left on their ban thread (the thread that caused them to get banned). For a moderator, I think that would be differrent.

Here is how I think it would happen:

Moderator: Choose your next words carefully, OT. They may be your last as king.
King OT: [to himself: thinking] "Revoking of moderator privileges and inability to post"?
[OT unsheathes and points his banhammer at the Moderator's throat]
Moderator: Madman! You're a madman!
King OT: Revoking of moderator privileges and inability to post? You'll find plenty of both down there.
Moderator: No man, user or administrator, no man threatens a moderator!
King OT: You bring the crowns and heads of conquered forum administrators to my threads. You insult my queen. You threaten my users with suspension and bans! Oh, I've chosen my words carefully, moderator. Perhaps you should have done the same!
Moderator: This is blasphemy! This is madness!
King OT: Madness...?
[shouting]
King OT: This is Gamespot!
[Hits the moderator down the well with the banhammer]

If a mod were to get banned, then it would be no different than any other member except they would no longer be getting payed.

Well, I got banned when I was afraid that my account had been hacked... caused a big stink until I came back later that day. But no, I don't think a mod has been perma-banned while a mod... but some ex-mods have indeed been banned for good.MAILER_DAEMON

I only like 2 mods and they hardly post here. Most of the ones that do post here are too fast to use those plastic toy hammers. :P I think some of them enjoy that false sense of power. * bonk, bonk * -- -PaCMaN-

I thought a moderator did get banned. Then he was unbanned but his moderator status was removed or something like that.

It will never happen, every tie I report a mod for breaking the rules the never get any kind of reprimand. kingyotoX
