If labels like that were required on every book with inappropriate material, I would totally agree. Most of that label is true.zeppelin6591Is it really? If you're going to make comments like that, you have to back them up. Same deal with this "label." Is it really fiction if they can't prove that it's fiction that's not supposed to be taken literally?

Well, it might sound worse out of context, but most of the things he lists are in the Bible, and I personally know several WAY over the top religious fanatics, many of which are slight bigots and hateful people. I also can't prove that the Bible is fictional, but I do agree that a lot of it is meant to be interpreted. The story of Adam and Eve? I couldn't tell you if it really happened or not, but I could tell you that I understand the metaphors of sin and Satan in the apple and the snake. I think that the Bible teaches some great things, but when people get caught up in it, then things can get way out of hand.Â
You know, all the athiests here are going to laugh, and all religious type folk are going to consider it stupid and offensive.
Â
I do agree with this part though: Do NOT take it literally.Â

There's no way to prove it did not happen. There's also no way to prove it happened so eh whatever you believe in is what counts.[QUOTE="zeppelin6591"]If labels like that were required on every book with inappropriate material, I would totally agree. Sweet. Im going to write abook about how Jesus and Elvis went to the new earth to conjure everybody from a video game to kill the creatures that live there. That would be considered fiction right?Â

No, not all religious folk will consider it stupid and offensive. Just because you're religious doesn't mean you believe in the Bible. Christianity isn't the only religion, you know.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel the need to post this quote:|
If I were to suggest that between the Earth and Mars there is a china teapot revolving about the sun in an elliptical orbit, nobody would be able to disprove my assertion provided I were careful to add that the teapot is too small to be revealed even by our most powerful telescopes. But if I were to go on to say that, since my assertion cannot be disproved, it is an intolerable presumption on the part of human reason to doubt it, I should rightly be thought to be talking nonsense. If, however, the existence of such a teapot were affirmed in ancient books, taught as the sacred truth every Sunday, and instilled into the minds of children at school, hesitation to believe in its existence would become a mark of eccentricity and entitle the doubter to the attentions of the psychiatrist in an enlightened age or of the Inquisitor in an earlier time.

I threw a bible once and it hit my friend in the balls :lol:Â
Why do people feel the need to Sh!t on others beliefs, just because they do not like what other people believe?
Leave religion alone and let people do what they want.
I actually find that picture very offensive to my religious beliefs and consider it discriminative against my race. In kindness, I wish for you to take it down, please.
If this was another religion like Islam, posting pictures of muhammad, this would be locked already, but you won't do that will you?
If this was about Scientology then everybody would be like, 'Well, we already knew that..'
But this isn't either..

You have to admit, the content advisory is true. I lol'd when you said it was disciminative to your race. That was priceless.
And how do pictures of mohammed correlate to calling the bible fiction?

If there was a thread lampooning atheists, would be all up there telling the tc creator to stfu or would you be going along with it? If you'd go with the latter, please stfu.:)
