Ya know when you pull on the stem of a banana to open it, and sometimes it just doesn't go? Well this is the correct way to open a banana without the fuss/risk of damaging the flesh inside.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBJV56WUDng

I watched this video and I've been opening bananas at the bottom ever since.

I've tried it and it is easier. I usually just break them in half though.

Wasn't this posted already?

Anyway the first time I saw that video I found it to be pretty funny.

Then I tried actually opening a banana like that. The technique's really stupid and doesn't work 100%. Pass.

The trick is, you have to snap the stem real fast, if you do it slow, it will bend. Kind of like snapping someones neck.

I disagree with this method for one important reason: If you are having the slightest bit of difficulty opening it from the stem, then you know it's not ready, and you should put that bad boy down. It's a built in ripeness indicator.

This proves evolution does exist, as our need for an efficient way to open bananas is no longer a concern. To further support this theory, I've developed a new revolutionary way of eating bananas. First, there was from the bottom (best). Then, from the stem (not bad). Now, I eat all bananans simply by biting it from the side, rupturing the peel and allowing me to suck out all the nutritious banana goodness through the hole (worst option).

I've seen this long ago, longbefore someone was bored enough to post on youtube. Not this video, just the fact.

Is there awrong way to rip off a peel and dispose of it? I still go by the stem becauseI've always found it to be quicker. I guess I dispose ofwaste improperly too, because I don'tthrow it with my bare hand.

The thing is it's best to open the older banna by theseamsince going by thestemis more difficult whenit's soft due to age. There's a reason for doing it one way or the other.

I Remember trying toeat a banana without peeling it first.I was a pre-teen. I knew they weren't supposed to be eaten but I was curious. Didn't get far since my gag reflex wouldn't let me get past the first bite, so I puked all over the floor.

I don't like ripe bananas. Only slightly green bananas. Also, I've noticed the stem is more likely to bend when they are ripe.

The correct way of opening a banana - tear it apart with your teeth. *manly grin*
