[QUOTE="pygmahia5"][QUOTE="DrSponge"]I thought it was entertaining, even if it was horrifically inaccurate. Angels and Demons is so so so so SO much better though.DrSpongeshould i read that one instead of The DaVinci Code? Why can't you read both? i could. but i just don't have a lot of time. i also want to read the Bourne series too.
That Dan Brown is the result of an old Soviet plan to defeat the western world by destroying our ability to read and write in an articulate and intelligent manner. And if it weren't for his failed attempt at being a pop singer, it probably would have worked.
Dan Brown bashing isn't fashionable anymore guys.DrSpongeI am not bashing. I am just saying as alife long reader I think he is a hack, and his ideas are very used and nowhere near original. And I never criticize to be fashionable.

It's just that everyone bashes him for being so terrible when he's nowhere near the worst.

I must agree though,a lot of people do do the same without a real opinion because its the thing to do. thats why I defended having the opinion and not the opinion itself. So I do not completely disagree with you,I am just not one of that group.
...wut? Did we read the same book :|[QUOTE="Baranga"]
Great pacing, crap writing. LOL at the orgy scene and orgasm stuff.
DrSponge
Yes, Sophie or whatever her name is tells Langdon how she caught her grandpa secksing some chicks in the basement while wearing masks. And there's a bit about how males stop thinking during orgasm etc.

Oh yeah. I remember now [QUOTE="kingdre"]
It was entertaining. I took it for what it was: a work of fiction. I'm surprised a lot of people believed it.
Theokhoth
Yeah, that was quite a stupid spell. People treated it as a textbook; I would say "Look on the back cover. See the word 'fiction'?"
If memory serves, there was a sentence within the first few pages that said something about the book being based on historical facts or something. I think that's what got to some readers. If memory serves, there was a sentence within the first few pages that said something about the book being based on historical facts or something. Dan Brown defended the authenticity of the Priority of Sion, which in truth turned out to be some organization that originated in France in 1956.
I'd advise Theo not to read it, because it makes as much sense when you look at it as truth as the 9/11 conspiracies.
It works as an art of fiction, but the theories and stories that build the story are altered or completely falsified. The book should not be taken in any way as a serious analysis of Christianity nor should any part of it be taken as undeniable truth. Its a work of fiction. I've seen people actually consider it fact, which bothers me because it is the exact opposite.
It is a very well written and engaging book, I like it alot, more so then angels & deamons.
It might be a bit heavy if you are not used to reading, he does not exactly use the smallest words in the world, but honestly? If anyone has passed 10th grade, then youd be fine reading it ^^
[QUOTE="DrSponge"]Dan Brown bashing isn't fashionable anymore guys.PBSnipesIt's not an issue of being fashionable, it's an issue of how one of the most popular authors in recent memory has the writing ability of an above-average high-school student. Writing a book isn't just about your actual writing ability.
