Here's a poster for the movie, due out next year!
Look closely at it lol. Looks sharp, although I'm a bit surprised to see a poster already. Have they even finished filming?!

For those who don't wish to click away to see the poster. Anyway, it looks...ok. Devoid of color. I know that's the point, but yeah...
Cool poster but it looks like that could've just been a leftover poster that they didn't use for Inception. JML897yeah it's pretty bad tbh
Like someone said, it really does look like a left over Inception poster. But its not an offical movie poster, just a teaser so one can't be too harsh.
:o How is that even possible? Opinions. They exist. But if anything, I'd have to say he hates the voice.I hated the first Dark Knight :o
imaps3fanboy
looks very striking, just what the heck is Bane going to do to Gotham??? :o

Carve out an outline of a bat with a decrepit skyline?
I love the poster. It's simple and to the point yet leaves a definite impression. I'm personally extremely hyped for this movie as the Dark Knight is probably the best movie I've ever seen IMO. I loved the narrative and action and the excellent use of Heath Ledger (RIP) as the Joker so I'm eager to see how this movie surpass the greatness of its predecessor.

It would be cool if it does. What nags me though is that the story of the Dark Knight seemed to abruptly close simply because of Ledger's death. I think the third movie was suppose to be about Harvey Dent being the villain, or at least one of the main ones, and I wouldn't doubt that Nolan would've written Bane in as well for good measure. The twist would've been that Batman used the help of the newly imprisoned Joker to stop Two-Face and finish off Bane.
Or something like that :P. That story would've been wicked.
This isn't Dark Knight 2... this is the third movie in a trilogy. The first was Batman Begins, the second was Dark Knight and this is the 3rd and final. Some people seem to be confused.
I'm going to go ahead and say that either Bruce, Gordon, Fox or Alfred will die.
Interesting. It took me a second to realize the outline shape of the bat. From the buildings falling apart like that gives me the impression that Bane will cause some serious damage to Gotham city. Somehow I get this doubtful feeling that Catwoman will not play a vital role as Bane will. Still, cant wait for this movie and for any trailer to come out.

If that had happened, it would've been the best movie and story probably ever. I'm eager to see what Nolan does with it now though. I wonder if he'll write the Joker in. I personally don't think he will because of how greatly Ledger's performance was acclimated and how well he truely did. Speaking of the Batman series, is Batman Begins worth a watch? I haven't watched it but it looks good.

Batman Begins is actually a lot different. The Dark Knight is basically a crime movie with two wacko people in it, whereas Batman Begins is a true superhero movie.
I reckon you should just watch it for the story's sake, but you'll find The Dark Knight a lot better from what I'm presuming.

Im sorry guys but that is a terrible idea. Do you guys wan't another spider man 3? This is the 3rd chapter of Nolan's Batman saga, not the Dark Knight 2.5.And the second film was actually not revolving around the joker, but more the rise and fall of Harvey Dent, a.k.a Two Face, who over all had a bigger role, and screen time than the joker. Batman Begins is absolutely amazing but If you never watched it and watched TDK first, then I would lower my expectations a bit. Batman Begins is a lot less about action, and a lot more about character development and story.

Nolan has stated that he doesn't feel bringing back the Joker would "feel right." So, no Joker, most likely. If anything, it will be Catwoman and the Bat vs. Bane. Ra's Al Ghul will be making a return in flashbacks.
IMO, Bane isn't a worthy enough villain for this trilogy to end with. Should have been Riddler orClayface... Batman faces off withthem on several, several occasions in the comicsand what not, andthey werejust much more dynamic villains. Bane is a genius in the comics, and is very powerful obviously, but he's more corrupted and confused than sinister or villain-like.I think Nolan was trying to bring morecharacter to the villains that have not been included in Batman films much, or at all. Batman Begins did a great job of that... and I thought Ra was great. Clayface would have been the best choice for this movie's villain, imo. Hasn't been done before, and he has a large array of abilities + the mind of a true villain (Joker, Riddler, etc...).

Actually, Spider-Man 3 was disappointing because it didn't build upon the first two properly.
What should've gone down in Spider-Man 3 was Lizard and New Goblin, since Dr. Connors and Harry Osborn were featured in the previous Spider-Man movies. It would've even been okay to throw in Sandman and make New Goblin an ancillary villain, so Harry could have teamed up with Spider-Man to take both Lizard and Sandman down.

If the Joker teamed up with Batman, then that would kill what the TDK built. It is also the reference to Venom and Sandman vs New Goblin and Spiderman which was shallow and pointless.I think Spider Man 3 would have worked much better if Harry never became the New Goblin and instead uses Conar to create something new from the gasses that created the Green Goblin in order to stop spiderman and make himself stronger. Then theressome sort of accident involving spiderman and Harry, and Conar gets caught in the cross fire, becomes contaminated which leads him to be The Lizard. Lizard trys to find a cure for his condition but does not have the equipment so he ends up kidnapping Harry and Spiderman must stop him before its too late. Spider Man finds The Lizards hideout, and tries to escape with Harry. Harry is hesistant at first and stubborn but eventually teams up with spider man to escape the labitory. Some how the labitory begins to explode, Harry helps lead Spider man out of it, and ends up deing along with Conar.
Something as cliche as that would support a better story than anything invovling constant villian battling or teaming up.
Spiderman 3 should have just been Spiderman vs Sandman or Spiderman vs Venom... Sandman's character and the relation to Uncle Ben was pretty good, and I liked how Peter and Mary Jane's relationship finally became more "official" with the ending. But them developing Venom's character more and making it a one-on-one between the two of them, with Harry's role being lessened, would have been awesome.
That movie was just too convoluted imo.

I appreciate your comic book knowledge, but I was coming from the perspective of a screenwriter. It's cool that there are keepers of comic book lore, but I dunno, my profession is filmmaking so I just approach any story from the craft of screenwriting, not what the original sources were having.
Anyway, the essence of the Spider-Man films was about Spider-Man trying to balance a normal life with his superpowers. As his uncle stated, "With great power, comes great responsibility", meaning it is inevitable his life will always be the way it is. In the first movie we see the problems arising from his newfound abilities, culminating in the death of his surrogate father. In the second movie, he tries to throw away his superpowers, but realizes his selfishness is causing even greater harm to others, when he thought it would heal the relationship between him, his aunt, Mary Jane, and Harry.
The issue Spider-Man 3 has is that the story of fantastical heroes and villains isn't a successful metaphor for Spider-Man's inner struggle. Spider-Man is black Spider-Man because being emo was cool in 2007, and Venom is someone everyone likes. The film choices were more to do with getting money than writing a good sequel.
Your proposed plot for Spider-Man 3 isn't a logical extension of Spider-Man's inner struggle. While it could make for an intriguing story, it's irrelevant to what the film series was portraying, and thus would suffer for it.

A lot of people were saying it was impossible to have two villains in a movie. That was until The Dark Knight came out. Apparently, it's impossible until someone does it right :P.
The convolution stems from poor storytelling. It was painfully obviously Venom was shoe-horned in the plot, and Sam Raimi's comments about the development for Spider-Man 3 say as much. Then there's the fact that he quit making Spider-Man 4 lol.
From what I've read, Venom comes from the black symbiote Spider-Man wears, so it takes a while for the villain to be introduced. Most likely, Venom would have needed a new series of Spider-Man films to come to fruition. I still feel Peter's professor should have become the new villain, and Harry become some side villain, and if they were reallyclever filmmakers, they could have had one more villain not necessarily as a three dimensional character, but as a plot device for the former two.
I don't think anyone was ever really interested in Bane from the Batman comic books, but I'm putting my trust and faith into Nolan and his team for cooking up a Bane persona that will captivate the audience like he did with Harvey Dent and The Joker. I'm sure by now everyone has noticed that Nolan doesn't choose villians with super-natural powers/bizarre abilities (Clayface, Mr. Freeze) rather he chooses characters that are just as human as we are. However with that said, I think Bane is the furthest from his villain routine because of Bane's insane muscle gain from his Venom compound. In my opinion, he's the furthest stretch for normal villany that Nolan could have chosen. I'm assuming everyone has seen the Bane teaser image? He looks to be seriously buff as in the comics, and his mask is constructed quite cleverly, as you can sort of make out a hand that covers the muzzle on his mask. These kind of techniques that Nolan uses brings depth to his characters. Whether it's actually a hand or not I can't be certain, but that what it looks like to me. Just for the sake of being more sure that everyone see's the image, I shall upload it below:
Now I'm sure the venom compound that Bane takes in the comics have a part to play in the movie as well, rumors are going around that Bane has connection to The League of Shadows and he gets the venom compound from the slopes like Scarecrow did for his hallucinigen. And this rumor seems more intriguing when I heard that Marion Cotillard will possibly play Talia Al Gul. These ofcourse, are nothing but rumors. Only time will tell. I'm sure Nolan will release a teaser trailer in a couple months.
There's speculation going around that the poster is hinting the No Man's Land comic book arc. In that story, Gotham city is struck by a giant earthquake and chaos ensues as villans take parts of the destroyed city for themselves and turn it into a war zone. So it could connect that story arc with Knightfall, which is where they introduce Bane. If the rumor is true, that sure sounds like an awesome story.
@Digital... good point. I never thought of his villain choice like that. I think he will draw more upon Bane's intellectuality (he is developed as a complete genius in the comics, like unnaturally intelligent) more than his strength, or at least, I hope he will. That is whatmakes Bane a good villain imo.I liked what he tried to say with Harvey Dent/Two-Face in Dark Knight and liked what he did with Ra's, so hopefully he will make Bane memorable.
