Anybody like them? Besides R.A. Salvatore's "Forgotten Realms" novels, they are my favorites.

I'm reading Chronicles right now. They're pretty good for fantasy novels, but I can't base one author's (well actually two) work for the whole series.

Sturm Brightblade is my favorite character of the series. A lot of people like Raistlin Majere.

I've been thinking about picking one up. I like "A Wizard of Earthsea" and the LOTR movies. Never read the LOTR books. Tell me what you like about the DL series and whether I might like them or not. Please

Just great fantasy. Excellent characters. Excellent battles and plot. You have to like fantasy. Some do, some don't. I love the world creation by the draginlance authors: Tracy Hickmann and Margaret Weiss.

Dragonlance is ok.. I am not a huge fan of it.. Quite honestly I think Warhammer 40k blows them all out of the water after reading both.. Warhammer 40k seems to be the perfect blend of sci-fi and fantasy.. Highly recommended.

That being said the Dark Elf Triology is still my favorite of his books.

While I love The Dark Elf Trilogy, those books have nothing to do with Dragonlance. Not even done by the same author..

Yeah. I read 'em all. I was a lot younger than I am now, though :P.

Do you like Chronicles or Legends better?

Dragonlance is Margaret Weis and Tracey Hickman. Dark Elf is R.A. Salvatore.

The DragonLance chronicles were my favorite books!! I've read the series beyond that as well along with other similar books. I recently saw a poorly made cartoon version of DragonLance--Autumn Twilight (I think it was that one). Didn't even know it was out unil I saw it on the store shelves so I rented it to see what it was like. Too bad it wasn't any good. I still think the series would of made for a great movie--esp. with the cgi we have these days.

It wasn't that bad. And the voice cast was actually made of of some pretty well known actors/actresses.
