I don't think it will end. I think when the time comes that we can travel and make colonies on other planets Earth will left to the slums. I think the very reasons some want our species to end is the very reason we won't. We are greedy, aggressive, and don't let morality cloud our creativity. So bleh.
Assuming humanity will have achieved space colonization by the time our planet is on the verge of dying then I would say our end would be a mass extermination commited by other advanced alien species or a solar explosion for which we will be unprepared. Or ultimately the ultimate apocalypse of the universe. Like a secong big bang or sth.
Besides all the wars and famines to come I think humanity will still manage to survive them to a certain extent.
I'd like to think humans, in some form, will survive to see the end of the universe (Heat death, big crunch, whatever). However we're probably going to go through a few massive near extinction events between now and then.
We're going to be able to stop most threats in this day and age. So the only thing that could stop us is most likely something insane like a planet on planet collision. Or a black hole entering the solar system.
Humanity will end because eventually we will all turn into domestic cows. Thus leaving no more humans. And all the domestic cows will become a new species far more advanced than we ever were.
