oh and if anyone knows and Japanese and Korean stuff, I'll might be interest in that too. The only japanese and korean artist is flow, asian kung fu generation, and cho pd.

Listen to Muse, Rage Against the Machine, Metallica and Led Zeppelin. I would say skip Radiohead, but I have a feeling my head will be ripped off by rabid fanboys here. :P

For you I would suggest Shinedown, Breaking Benjamin, and Seether, you might like them. ;)

You can't go wrong with any of those bands, I should correct you that its "Rage against the Machine", Rise against is a different band all together.

Muse's Black Holes and revalations and Absolution are fantastic. I enjoyed Evil Empire by Rage Against the Machine, Ok-Computer is radioheads best album in my opinion.

And as for Japanese bands, I got two great ones to introduce you two.

The first one is more acessible.

The Pillows:

Ride On Shooting Star

Flame

Advice

The second one is a bit less acessible but much more awesome IMO. (I seriously love this band)

Maximum the Hormone:

Zetsubou Billy

Rockimpo Goroshi

Rolling 1000Toon

Houchou Hasami Cutter Knife Dosu Kiri

Koi No Mega Lover

Edit: NVM my question was answered by a previous post.

So since you do want those suggestions, I will just say that with Muse all their albums are great, but Origin of Symmetry and Absolution are two of their best with Symmetry being my fav album of theirs.

This is the best band I've heard. I suggest listening to their albums instead of individual songs, but either way, I'm sure that as you discover their music, they will bring you hours of joy. If you don't own their first six albums, you are cheating yourself out of some of the best rock music ever written. Bonham was one of the most powerful drummers in rock. Page wrote some incredibly powerful riffs as well as some lovely acoustic melodies. He is an extremely versatile guitarist. Jones (bassist, keyboardist, mandolin player, etc.) is a great musician and incredibly underrated. Plant is probably the weakest member of the band, but his voice grows on you and he has a very good vocal range. Best Albums (their first 6 are all masterpieces): Led Zeppelin I (very bluesy, some hard rock) Led Zeppelin II (strong hard rock vibe) Led Zeppelin III (mostly acoustic) Led Zeppelin IV (2/3 hard rock, 1/3 acoustic) Houses of the Holy (eclectic) Physical Grafitti (eclectic and experimental) Best Songs: Kashmir Ten Years Gone When The Levee Breaks The Rover Since I've Been Lovin' You Achilles Last Stand Babe I'm Gonna Leave You

Metallica and Zeppelin are the only two I liked out of those, I could recommend some stuff:

Anthrax, the first few albums are a lot like Metallica

Megadeth, same thing

Uriah Heep, sound a fair bit like Zeppelin

Pink Floyd, too awesome not too consider:P

Iron Maiden is lighter, entry-level Metal if you want to get into the genre as a whole;)

Try those out.

EDIT: Actually, forgot about Muse. I liked their earlier stuff that was very guitar-driven.

Um you like Asian stuff eh? Check out The Pillows 1998 and 99 material (stay away from anything after 2003) Shiina Ringo is a beast and a legitimate pop artist. Really good strong stuff. Wikipedia her albums.

Muse - decent music, but I don't like the singer's voice.

Rage Against the Machine (I assume that's what you meant) - a few good songs, but overall too angry for me

Radiohead - just don't like. Can't find anything that they've done that I like

Metallica - I only really liked their Black Album, beyond that, not a fan. Before that the thrash metal was too...thrashy? and after that it was too soft.

Led Zeppelin - actually my favorite band. They do everything well, from funk to blues to gospel.

Metallica- My favourite band. Start off at their first album which is Kill em all and basically follow the time line through Ride the lighting, Master of puppets, ...And justice for all etc. Metallica kinda went over board after the black album but they still had a few good songs.

Led Zepplin- Gotta listen to them man, Bonham was amazing on the drums as has already been said.

RATM- I'm not a fully fledged fan but I fine their songs are great for when I'm pissed off but they have some serious meaning behind them.

I also suggest if you become a fan of thrash metal listen to Slayer.

 no they aren't. Metallica is metal, but though I like the genre, I"m not a head over heels Metallica fan. Led Zeppelin is in the running for best band ever, i have yet to hear a BAD song by them. Look up Black Dog Going to California D'Yer Mak'er that'll get you started.
