So, I looked at some threads and it's all redundant blabber about who sucks, what sucks, why they suck... Well, I decided to make my own list of artists. Instead of sucky ones, however, they're the greatest. That's right, ladies and gentlemen. These are the greatest most known artists of all time. I'll list each artist and one of their most well-known songs. Trust me, you should know most (if not all) of them.

#1 Micheal Jackson (Thriller)

#2 Metallica (Enter Sandman)

#3 The Beetles (Twist and Shout)

#4 Elton John (Circle of Life)

#5 Elvis (Blue Suede Shoes)

#6 Johnny Cash (Ring of Fire)

#7 Frank Sinatra (Angel Eyes)

#8 Louis Armstrong (What A Wonderful World)

#9 Phil Collins (You'll Be In My Heart)

#10 Bob Marley (Redemption Song)

#11 Led Zeppelin (Stairway to Heaven)

#12 Queen (We Will Rock You)

#13 Nirvana (Smells Like Teen Spirit)

#14 Bobby McFarren (Don't Worry Be Happy)

#15 Rage Against the Machine (Bulls on Parade)

Ok, so honestly. That's just 15 of many. Can you image just seeing these 15 on one stage? I'd cry. But anyways, what's your top 15? You don't necessarily have to like all of the bands you list because (I'll be honest) I'm not a big fan of Nirvana... So, what's your opinion?

NecroKvltMuffin

I have to agree with his laughing at you, Enter Sandman is way too late on their discography to be there best.

Ok, so you get my point -.- Those are just SOME of their most popular songs. Not the most popular, give me a break lol! I just want you to list 15 of the greatest. It's not in any particular order (except Micheal Jackson).

Most known and greatest generally don't go together with me. I don't care for any of the bands listed. Maybe it's their musical sty1e, or maybe it harkens back to an era where music was music and nothing more. I prefer expression in my music. ;)

I disagree with M.J. being #1 but whatever. Never liked Elton John, Queen, or Bobby McFarren too much. And I'm too sure Phil Collins should be on the list, he's good but I don't know about that good. Where's Pink Floyd? And why only pop & rock music?

#2 Metallica (Enter Sandman)

#Wicked_Spades

umm.. master of puppets, orion, ride the lightning, creeping death, call of ctulu ( forgot spelling ) , four hoursemen, seek and destroy.. all better songs.....

ur list is rly bunk... why is stairway to heaven soo low, , why is MJ #1? ... where is lynard skynard's free bird.. why no ray charles? WTF nirvana ahead of skynard and ray charles? who are rage against the machine and why are they on that list...

we will rock you? NO .. bohemian rhapsody, killer queen, under pressure, even the underappreciated death on two legs..

OMG i could nerdrage all day about this

EDIT : didnt notice he actually had "what a wonderful world " why no Bob Dylan? its not my opinion but "like a rolling stone" is regarded by many as the best rock song ever ( again not my opinion) , what about hurricane?

why no rolling stones or the who? for god sakes you had rage against the machine and nirvana. listen to some real music before making a list and patting yourself on the back for such a job well done

Exactly, I'm glad someone got it. Let's keep in mind that you're looking at a world the reminisces on more old-school music than contemporary. Don't get me wrong, people do listen to current artists like Coldplay, Red Hot Chilli Peppers or Lil' Wayne but you also have to keep in mind that more than 40% of the world is from a previous generation. I understand that most of you don't like some if not most of the artists on the list but you have to understand that that doesn't necessarily mean others do. For someone saying that Micheal Jackson doesn't deserve #1, you're crazy.

In all time, Micheal Jackson has sold more records than any other artist. Then the Beetles. As I said before, that list was in no particular order. I usually just place numbers so I know how many I put in there and don't get lost. The simple fact of the matter is that each of those artists on that list have created songs almost everyone knows. Tell me you've never heard of Don't Worry Be Happy. Ok... So I left some out like Patsie Cline or Jimmy Buffet but you get the big picture. I'm simply saying that those 15 are some of the most recognized singers of all time. So, read it an weap.

Rage Against the Machine is one of the biggest names in metal next to Pantera (not exactly the same style though). Metallica is the most famous metal band set aside Queen, Led and all those other big names, Beetles (duh), you get the idea. Think outside the box. You guys are thinking too opinionated! :P
