The Internet can be a truly horrible place.

In my travels through out thisrealm we call the "internet" I have come across some truly dark stuff (4Ch** anyone?). Anybody else have any knowledge about the dark side of this other-wise great time waster?

The horrible parts are what make it interesting.

I've actually known for a while but it begs the question, Who are the people who do these things like all day every day? They're like a new class of human lol. and that's not a good thing.

The internet is like a rabid badger covered in chocolate. Sexy, fascinating, weird, yet oddly disturbing and terrifying at the same time.

Yeah but if i don't want to see a particular thing then i won't go to 'said' sites that have those things. I don't think filtering and banning is the answer.

You have to understand, i am from Australia and right now our Government is trying to put a mandatory filter on our internet and i am fully against it :)

Absolutely not, breaking net neutrality will be the end of the Internet as we know it. (I don't want what I view controlled by corporations or the government as long as what I am viewing is legal)

My internet venturing has been quite peaceful thank you. Worse sites are here and Gametrailers. And I never plan on stepping into the site. But yes, I am perfectly aware that there are scarring images and events that are just around the corner...

/b/ is basically synonymous with 4ch by now. I think most people are referring to that.
