Normally I don't buy lottery tickets but I had $10 and I was like, "what the hell, right?" So I got myself a $10 lottery ticket and won...

I laughed at the winning and of course I was happy that I didn't lose any money. It's just most of the time I play the lottery, I've broke even most of the time. I just find it funny.

I never play the numbers games, but I will buy an occaisional scratch-off. I've won a couple of hundred dollars a couple of times.

That's how they keep you playing. Like the slot machines. They'll keep giving you little amounts to keep you playing. Unless you just stupidly put a bunch of money into each spin you could damn near keep playing a slot machine forever and not run totally out of money.

Some people play the lottery religiously. I think the lottery is fine to play once and awhile but to put your faith in the lottery is never a good idea.

I would play the lottery, but I set big piles of money on fire instead.

I play when the pots get above $10 mill. I have not turned a profit in the 15 years I've been playing. The most I've won is $80 for 5 numbers plus the bonus.

I think its fairly safe to ass-ume like all gambling the only people that actually have made a profit are the people that hit it BIG. I suppose there are a few cases out there of people that play very rarely and have made a profit.

The most I've ever won is $10 on a $1 ticket. Scratch off tickets are a waste IME. I occasionly spend $2-3 on the powerball just for the fantasy of "what if".

I don't pay the stupid person tax. Remeber, that before the lottery was legal, it was run by the mafia, and they don't run anything that isn't a scam. It amuses me that a program they use profits from to fud education only succeeds because people don't understand statistics. Burning your money for heat in the winter would be a better use for money than playing the lottery.
