If it makes you feel any better, most people at 22/23 don't fully know their identity or where they want to fully go in life. The bad news, you're going to have to find that out on your own. There is no easy answer to that because everyone is different. There are no easy answers when it comes to serious questions, only experience and a willingness to keep an open mind and ask the right questions along the way will get you there. You'll see what I'm saying in a few years. You are on the verge of getting things together and figuring out your identity and other things. It's like this for most all people, at least in the U.S and probably many of the countries that are pretty open to letting you be who you want to be. It was for me too.
The meaning of life is dependent on how you live it. That's how you define your life. Who you are is dependent upon the characteristics that make you unique. What are you doing is dependent upon your abilities. Where are you heading is dependent upon your interests. That's the simple answer. You have to figure out what your purpose your life must have.
Finding an answer to this sort of question is, for me at least, one of the more rewarding things about living this life. I search through my memories and examine whatever I can around me to help myself create a guide that will help me go on living almost everyday. There is never an answer that remains constant either. Because there are always revisions to be made.
I'm 18 and I feel the same way. I have no motivation and I have no idea what I want to do with my life. How am I suppose to figure out what I want to do? How do I get motivated to try and do something? I feel so confused.
Think of life as a journey, set a objective and live it through the end. While you are doing that, in the next decade all your questions will be answered. It's YOUR life. You can streer it in any direction. Who are you? A person? Why are you here? To accomplish something. What your doing here to accomplish is up to you. I am only 14 by the way.
Campbell: Eternity isn't some later time. Eternity isn't a long time. Eternity has nothing to do with time. Eternity is that dimension of here and now which thinking and time cuts out. This is it. And if you don't get it here, you won't get it anywhere. And the experience of eternity right here and now is the function of life.
