Marvel has countless tragic heroes; Deadpool, the Thing, and the Hulk to name a few.

Who do you find the most tragic?

The Hulk seems the most depressing. He loses control of his self, nearly invincible, and is hated by many.

He's not even attractive when he's big. Everyone thinks he's a monster.

He would have killed himself if he could.

Like wow. Is there anyone who's more depressing than that?

Comics aside most recently the best tragic anti-hero I've read is Jaime Lannister.

Some of my favorite tragic heroes include Yedan Derryg, prince of the strand, watcher of the shore, wielder of the possessed Hust sword that thirsts for dragon blood. A homosexual that is the end of his bloodline, he dies in the jaws of a dragon that he slew.

Rogue since she cant touch anyone without sucking the life from them. Batman is kinda sad since every woman he falls for seems to either die or is a criminal and he really never gets any sleep.

Berry and Singer had friction on the set of X1 over all aspects of Storm, from the appearance to the accent, which carried over to X2 where she also supposedly was a real cuss to Alan Cumming, which along with the heavy makeup caused him to refuse returning in X3 for a cameo. Now, because of her Oscar win for porking Billy Bob Thornton onscreen, she went to Fox exec Tom Rothman who already had a shaky relationship with Singer given his budget cuts and strict stance on no overly fantasy elements working their way into the series, and demanded more screen time. Problem was, Bryan was setting up X3& X4 to adapt The Phoenix Saga, and her role was gonna get diminished in the process given that story is all about Scott and Jean. He had also tapped Sigourney Weaver to play the White Queen. Berry used her Oscar win to push Singer out, Singer was like "cuss this" and bolted to Superman Returns. In steps Matthew Vaughn......who, eventually bolted as well under the excuse of him being away from his family for too long during filming to cover his disgust over Rothman's constant interference with X3's production, and the story they wanted to go with......one that had already leaked to the fans, which sent them in a tizzy. And rightfully so given Cyclops was killed off in a story that he played a central role in all because the actor that portrayed him followed Singer over to Superman Returns. So Rothman approves the killing of Xavier and Scott the two main characters of the franchise in favor of more screen time to the overrated Wolverine and the "it girl" of the moment Berry. Ratner was hired six weeks before filming, and while he has been constantly blamed for X3 sucking, he had no input on the story at that point, and the only really stupid things he did was include the "I'M THE JUGGERNAUT, CUSS!" line and say in interviews that he felt that the Dark Phoenix Saga could not fill up an entire length of a film. Now I won't get into all the reasons why that film was such a disappointment to X-men fans, but all of it was stemmed from Halle Berry's Oscar win. And because of that, we got a lousy Superman movie, which in turn got John Schnieder one of the best things about Smallville killed off on the show so it would fit more in line with the film.....as well as the show, at that point being looked at as nothing more than a marketing tool for the property rather than building something they could eventually spin off. And because of Return's poor reception, and the on again off again sequel, Singer missed out on the Star Trek reboot, which was something he actually would've been perfect for. He was a HUGE Trek fan, unlike JJ Abrams who jumped aboard with his horsecuss team of writers just for a cash grab and ended up dumbing down the franchise. So Halle essentially ruined X3, X4, Superman Returns, Smallville, and Star Trek all because she wanted more screen time and was a egotistical cuss to Singer. In the years since, Fox has realized their mistakes of driving Singer and Vaughn away and they have began to rebuild what the studio ruined with X3. First Class was great and something like Days of Futures Past in the hands of those guys should be just as enjoyable. Hopefully though, when they get around to making a real deal X4, Storm is recast.

That's interesting. It sounds like you know what you're talking about. The main thing I had an issue with was your comment about Professor Xavier. Although they have done stories where Xavier communicates with the X-Men and other characters via telepathy beyond time, I don't know how the writers would make something like that work in a movie only a couple hours long.
