Game 6 is this sunday and the Dallas Mavericks have a 3-2 series lead over the Miami Heat, with the last two games being played in Miami. Thoughts?

I wanted Chicago to take it all...and being eliminated by the Heat is like a kick in the gut, so I'm rooting for the Mavericks. They seem more humble and collected than Miami--who just strike me as a bunch of talented, but far more arrogant and self-aggrandizing bunch of players.

Yeah, I searched for a similar thread in the first few pages of the OT but didn't find anything that related to this closely enough. Besides, the other ones didn't have a poll! XD

I'm a Heat fan, so of course I want them to win.

I'm not very confident though. Even though the remaining 2 games are at home, it will be VERY difficult to win 2 in a row against a great Dallas team.

As much as I would love the heat to lose but I believe they will take these next 2 games at home. But lets hope Lebron keeps sucking in the 4th quarter.

the HEAT actually played ok at home though. They controlled game 1. In game 2, the same, but they got cocky and gave the game to the MAVS by letting up. IF theres a team that can win two in a row at home against the MAVS in this situation, its the HEAT.

The heat did not GIVE anything to the Mavs 1. It is the NBA...everyone makes a run. The only game I saw all post season where that did not happen was Mavs/Lakers game 4 (where they just rolled over and died) 2. The Heat have shown that that their 4th quarter execution is s*** all series long (no matter if it is close or not). Eric 'coach spo no mo' has demonstrated the difference b/w a great veteran coach and a young, inexperienced one

Miami's offense reverts to what Mike Brown used to call for LeBron in Cleveland (only it's Wade in charge). There's practically no movement and it's all up to Wade to create. I think a huge key last game was that Terry was more aggressive and seemed to go off of tons of more screens. At the very least, this consumed LeBron on the defensive end when he was guarding Terry. The Mavs' coaching is better and the players are more experienced in these situations. It's pretty obvious that Kidd and Dirk aren't bothered by the pressure.

I agree with everything except for the experience part. LeBron has been to the Finals and East Finals a couple times. Wade has just as much experience as Dirk in the playoffs. Kidd is old but does not have that much more playoff experience than the others. It is almost all coaching IMO...that and LeBron lacking something (what that is at this point is debatable)

Then you don't want the Heat to win... The Mavs are the epitome of a 'team' They have one top 5 player and no one else in the top 50 (playing right now). They have two good defenders and the rest suck. They just play great team/help defense. The Heat have 2 of the top 5 players and 3 in the top 25 and one of the better defenders in the league (Haslem). The heat winning would show one thing to the league while the mavs winning would show something else. ...though if the Mavs still had a healthy Butler, we would not even be discussing this (they were on their way to the best record in the league before he got injured)

I like the Heat, mainly because, they are the NBA's new villain, and I love to cheer for the bad guy. Its one of the reasons why I love Kobe and and Lakers. I just wish that the Heat would man up, say **** you, to all their haters, and do everything possible to increase the hate, and crush the hearts of all those cheering against them.

People forget, because they have already retired, but Jordan, Magic, Bird, Reggie and Isaiah were all polarizing figures. Some people loved them to death, others hated them bitterly. This makes for exciting TV. Watching 2 nice guys compete is the most boring thing on the face of this earth.

Yeah I'm one of the few remaining Heat fans too. But I'm pretty confident that the Heat will take home court. Just look at last year's Finals, when Boston won Game 5 everybody though it was over until the Lakers got it together and took games 6 and 7.

That was more due to an injury than home court :?

Even so, defense is quite difficult to pull off when Dallas shoots 60% from the 3-point line. You watch Dallas a little bit and if anyone has trouble in the paint, then they dump it off to Kidd or Barea beyond the arc. They're a difficult team to contain.

It's hard not to cheer for a group of veterans who have been busting their butts their entire career. The Heat just seem like an immature bunch of kids. They get theirs eventually, but this year is Dirk's year.

I doubt Dallas shoots near 70% from the 3 point line again. The Heat defense wasn't bad, it just merely looked bad because Dallas was hitting EVERY jump shot, contested or not.

If Dallas shoots a "normal" percentage from 3 tonight then I like the Heat's chances. We'll see. Anything can happen. I just want the series to go to 7 games because it DESERVES to go 7 games. It's been an amazing series.

I disagree. I felt the HEAT got too cocky hence the reason why they slow down, they thought it was over. Chest bumping all that nonsense. They let them in by stopping things that worked like going to the basket and instead put up stupid long 3s which failed to drop. Also, their D went light during that period. The MAVS capatilize and the rest is history. IF the HEAT didnt let up, kept doing things that worked all game long instead of in the last 6 minutes, rush and jack up stupid 3s, they would of won game 2. And Game 1 showed how they can close out in this series but havent played like that since.

What? He went to the Finals twice with the Nets and has made the playoffs every year since 1997. He also has two Olympic Gold Medals and three FIBA Americas Championship Gold Medals.

Are you counting international experience which is under a different set of rules and a different type of pressure? Also, Dirk, Haslem and Wade have just as much finals experience. Lebron has been to the finals as well. Dirk has almost as much playoff experience and so does Wade (if you count series and not just trips to the playoffs) So I stand by my point. Age and international experience =/= more playoff experience

If what you just described had not happened in EVERY game this series (regardless of lead), you would have a point. But everything you described (the defense and offense both going to s***) has happened in each of the games thus far. Dallas plays better in the 4th. Miami runs iso plays and gets tired on defense (or quits playing as hard, take your pick)
