I personally like the Challenger better. What about you guys.

Camaro easily, the Challenger is a big ol' boat.
ramjam23
I dont think you have seen the new Challenger, because they are about the same size, and the Challenger is more powerful. Maybe you are thinking of a charger is something.
The Challenger is much heavier though, which makes it slower.

The Camaro is only 300 pounds less, but the Challeger is 100 horses more.

The Challenger handles like crap. Also, the Challenger doesn't have 520 hp.I live just outside Detroit so I have seen hundreds of each, at least one a day now. I like the look of the Challenger a bit more. I doubt there is much performance variance with two very similar designs.

Not sure if serious :??
The Challenger has 425 horsepower, while the Camaro has 426.

He said that the Challenger had 100 more hp, so I was wondering if he knew that the Camaro had a V8 version also. He was probably thinking that the camaro only had the V6 with 300hp.

Ah... I didn't think about that.
There are two versions of the Challenger with the V8. The R/T has 375 hp and the SRT8 has 425.
The V6 Camaro also beats the V6 Challenger.

Actually of course i know the Camaro comes in a v8, but when me and my friends were comparing them a few months back, it was said that the Challenger would have 100 more stock. I can see now that i was wrong and i apologise, but i still like the Challenger more.
[QUOTE="smokingsbad"]I find the Challenger kinda ugly:oramjam23
How is this ugly?
Something about it i dont really like, My friend wants one thoughCease your petty arguements. The Shelby GT500 still remains king of the road. It has more horsepower than both Challenger SRT8 and Camaro SS. Plus it's lighter to boot! When you want American Muscle, Ford is king! Have fun driving your overweight boats.

Although this would be a close call.

And the ZO6 says bye. :PI thought we were talking Pony Cars here. That's like bringing up an SLR McLaren when comparing a C63 and an M3. Completely different ballgame. Corvette isn't a four-seater coupe. It's a 2 door sports car.

It's a 2 door sports car.I was kidding for the record. I agree the Corvette is not comparable as it is on another level. I also agree the GT500 is the fastest, and arguably most beautiful of the three. I like the Challenger the best, but not much more than the Mustang, and considerably more than the Camaro. '71 Split Bumper was the best Camaro ever IMO.FunkWeasel

Oh wow... When he opens it up from behind I get the same feeling form that sound I would on a rollercoaster. :D That bad boy is something special. If your bringing in a Shelby then maybe you should let Hennessey into it as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6rKfrIq9Ds

Ahhh CAMERO MAN. V8 has 350 hp. The V6 has 302 hp. That is absolutely amazing for a v6. :) Also, youtube Camaro 2010 vs Challenger 2009. Check out the advantages that the Camaro has over the Challenger.
[QUOTE="Kurushio"]Oh wow... When he opens it up from behind I get the same feeling form that sound I would on a rollercoaster. :D That bad boy is something special. Yeah i know lol. I have the Z-2300 speakers and i turn up the bass and volume so it feels almost like im there. Still i would take the Camaro and probably the V6 considering it makes double the HP as my Camaro and gets the same if not better MPG. Even the Mustang GT is only slightly faster than the V6 and it gets worse MPG than the SS which makes 100+ HP more than it lol. I respect the challenger for how close it looks to the old version and i do like that but its just a cruiser and not to great on gas to boot. It's also not as affordable as the mustang and Camaro as well. You cant even get a manual transmission for the base model and its like a $700 to get it on the premium. Atleast the Camaro you can get a 6 speed manual standard or a 6 speed auto that i think only adds like a couple of pounds but is like an extra 1K but again i think the Dodge only gets a 5 speed auto.If your bringing in a Shelby then maybe you should let Hennessey into it as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6rKfrIq9Ds

Close, it's 426 for the manual and i think slightly less for the auto (they use different engines) and your right about the V6 (has like 304HP i think) but it also gets 17 city and 29 highway miles per gallon. One of the downsides from reviewers though would be visibility. There are some large blind spots you have to deal with but they also put alot of engineering into it to make it look like it does and perform the way it does.Ahhh CAMERO MAN. V8 has 350 hp. The V6 has 302 hp. That is absolutely amazing for a v6. :) Also, youtube Camaro 2010 vs Challenger 2009. Check out the advantages that the Camaro has over the Challenger.

Yea you're right. I just had flashbacks of arguing with friends about Ford vs Chevy :D.
By the way, have you heard about the 5.0 Coyote? I think it'll be available in 2010. Link
Things should get really interesting then.

That isn't a practical comparison. I mentioned the Shelby GT500 becuase it is mass-produced, unlike the Hennessey. It also has a similar price point compared to the Challenger SRT8, the Challenger being $42,000, and the Shelby going for $45,000. The Hennessey goes for $109,000. At that price range, a cheaper, modded Saleen or Roush could perform just as well.

The Shelby and the Challenger are quite a bit more expensive than the Camaro also. Not at that level though.
That's another reason I brought up the Corvette earlier. There isn't a huge gap in price when comparing a Shelby to a Vette.
