I am totally serious about this - though I'm sure it may sound unbelievable.
So we recently hired a new guy at work. Bare in mind, I work at a multi-billion dollar company, as a software engineer. With that said, we are generally required to be professional. Now, this guy has a master's degree -- but he is originally from India, and still quite new to 'fitting in'. We expected that much coming in... however not to this extent.
As you all know, Halloween was recent. In light of this, the security lady in our building put out a bunch of chocolates for the children who were scheduled to 'trick or treat' around our office. Well... my manager got a phone call one day, and the security lady told him that "the new guy" was eating all the chocolates. My manager of course thought it was a joke, but asked her to give him a call if the problem persisted. The next day, he got another call. Same thing... he was eating all the candy. Well, my manager had to sit him down and tell him the candy was for everyone, and not to just eat it all. The next day, the kid brought in a big bag of candies... Well, just now I got an IM...
[15:21] my_manager: hows candyman doing
[15:21] me: haha, hes fine
[15:23] my_manager: yeah, just keep an eye on him, last I heard he was drinking the little coffee creamers
[15:23] me: >_>
[15:23] me: no wa y
[15:23] me: for real?
[15:24] my_manager: the secretary told me he filled a whole cup with them and then drank it, welcome to management
[15:24] my_manager: next time we need to make sure we ask these question when we interview candidates
I could seriously write an entire season for The Office based on this kid. I could tell you another 10 stories equally as funny, but I'll leave it for another time.
Enjoy :P
