I used it as an argument because many rap lyrics with your so called slang are also barely understandable, so at least metal doesn't make up it's own language. And that's not an opinion, a growling vocalist can change the tone of his voice and thus create melodies, it's not like growling forces him to remain stuck in the same note the whole song, and yes we're talking about notes here, it's not just noise even though many people would love to believe so. Rappers have no melody in their voice, rapping is just rythmic speech, they're not really singing.
