Well last year when every one was obsessed with guitar hero, you would notice that your heard it every were, people talking about beating (through the fire and flames) on expert and such. The game was fun yes but the one thing wrong was not the game play,oh no, it was over obsessed fans that actually thought they could play guitar and spent around 300$ for a good looking guitar and 150$ for lessons only to give it up after a week of no progress. Long story short there were too many posers and it was incredibly irritating,I like the game i have played it, it's just i hate people who over obsessed about it and thought they were awesome at actual guitar. I know i will be hated for posting this but i wanted to see how many people agree with me.

just a thought

wow, guitar hero players play for fun cause its a video game. People pick it up to play cause its got a far easier learning curve than a real guitar. Most people that are REALLY good at guitar hero actually play a real guitar or have lots of real musical experience. It helps make lots of people go for a real guitar, and thats a good thing. So what if they wasted their money not getting anywhere with real instrument, they are helping out with the real music business by giving some funds at least. I have a small inclination to learn how to play a guitar too, but it takes years to be good, and lots of money investment, which I have neither. If you take guitar hero too seriously, play other games or stop playing. A video game is meant to be fun.

Lawl at them. Although I love GH and have 4 stared TTFATF I know it has nothing to do with real guitar. It's a rhythm game and that's it. That's why I get annoyed at people who say, "aw man put away the toys and just play the real guitar." I have very little desire to play your guitars, all I want to do is play a game.:| There's a real guitar that's been sitting in my basement for quite some time, if I really want to I'll pull that out. (maybe some day I just might, but not now.)

Nobody who plays Guitar Hero thinks they can actually play guitar. Stop being so offended because people are having fun with a freakin RYTHYM GAME WITH A GUITAR-SHAPED CONTROLLER. Just because people play guitar hero doesn't make them wanna-be guitarists. Only morons think that.

Broke the guitar or the strings? Because the strings are replaceable - and if you "got good" within a period that didn't require a string change, I have a feeling your guitar wasn't sounding too good by the time the strings were broken.

I started playing guitar and then 2 years later I started playing guitar hero.

I merely just look at guitar hero as a game, and thats all it is. Nothing more, nothing less. People who take it one step farther, good for them. If you look at all the people obsessed with Unreal Tournement...same thing, only its NOT guitar hero.

This topic has been gone over a million times. If anything Guitar Hero makes you want to learn how to play a real guitar, I know it made me.

While talking about video games is part of GS, it's just not done in the Off-Topic Board where we talk don't talk about video games here. As such, you should either hit the General Games Discussion.
