so what was the one song, that got you interested in your now favorite bands/singers?

mine:

heard dead in ditches, while riding in my friends car.the instant it came on i was like, who is this, its amazing. no one knew, luckily i was able to remember enough lyrics to google it later. found out it was by Hollywood Undead, who at the time only had like 3 songs on their myspace page, ddnt even have a record deal yet. been my fave band ever since.

then was browsing youtube amv's and came across a Halo one with Blown Me Away(Breaking Benjamin) as the background song. instantly fell in love with it.

Was Browsing youtube while under the influence and came across Sober by Tool. fell in love with the song. then the band. i then set out to get all their albums.

was watching a DBZ movie(lord slug i believe) and heard Down with the Sickness by Disturbed. that was it.

When I was 11 years old, that song came out. I could not get enough. I stopped playing sports, grew my hair long, and took up music again. I now do it professionally. I have no f*cking idea what ide be doing if I never heard that song.

Hate to say it with how cliche it is, but Smells Like Teen Spirit got me into my all-time fav band Nirvana. The song was ALL OVER EVERYTHING when I was a toddler, and I was a strange toddler who took to watching MTV (which back then actually played music videos...). Fast forward 20 or so years ago and Nirvana still holds that special place in my heart, but funny enough Teen Spirit isn't even CLOSE to being one of my fav Nirvana songs.

I'm a big Madonna fan and the album Ray of Light got me into her, most notably Drowned World/Substitute for Love and Ray of Light.

I'm also a big Kate Bush fan. The song Wuthering Heights got me hooked on her music.

I'm also a big Beatles fanboy, but I don't think it was any one song in particular that got me into them.

Same with Prince, The Rolling Stones and Genesis.

Furthermore, Rosa Parks got me into Outkast and Fake Plastic Trees got me into Radiohead.

Lastly, the musical Rent got me into Jonathan Larson, who wrote the musical.

There are other bands and singers I'm a fan of, but this is enough for now.

Gimme Shetler is definitely one of the greatest songs ever made and by far the best Stones song. Dat intro! :shock:
