Disappointing? Hardly. Stop making it a direct comparison to Band of Brothers.
Until yesterday's episode, The Pacific mainly focused on the psychological aspect of war - unlike Band of Brothers, which mainly focused on incredibly well done set pieces with, of course, memorable characters.
I don't see how anyone could complain for "the lack of action" after seeing last night's episode. One entire tracking shot from the boat, following one soldier, while horrific things are happening around him. That was a phenomenal scene. I also loved when Leckie looked on the ground, to spot a blown off hand with a wedding ring on. It's really, really great stuff.
