PC. Just can do more, and it's really a gateway to the world. There's so much you can do on a PC, with a TV your limited. I do agree though that the people that grew up on PC's generally spend a lot more time on it than a television. My father is the same way, he use's his computer maybe an hour in a half max, to write e-mails, maybe look something up, and he's back on the television.
You can put a TV tuner in a PC and hook it up to a TV as a monitor so the question is moot however i virtually never watch over the air tv.
actually with websites like Hulu in place all you really need to have is a great internet connection and take an hdtv and make it your monitor. That's my plan anyways when I get my own place. Say goodbye to cable bills.
The last time I used an actual television was over 5 months ago, and that was to play some video games.
Now, I watch my TV episodes on my notebook computer output through my LCD monitor. Similarly, I will being playing video games through said monitor once my PS3 arrives Tuesday. It's probably not a hyberbole to say that I will very rarely ever use an actual TV again.
The PC is where I spend most of my 'entertainment' time (hobbies, watching DVDs, internet browsing, gaming, etc.).
Since TV went multi-channel (in the UK), I think the quality of programmes has dropped year on year, and there are very few series that interest me now. Too much 'reality TV' and other nonsense, and I'm not interested in soaps or most of the other dramas. The only series I've been watching regularly is the original Swedish version of 'Wallander', which is great. Before that, 'Being Human' was a nice spin on vampires and werewolves.
I've been using the pc to watch tv and movies and listen to music since 2001. The pc is the best way to enjoy entertainment. You have your music, movies, games, television programs...all at the touch of your fingers. Television is an antiquated technology.
(P2P aside) You can get TV (on demand) on the PC with little or no commercials; you can get PC on the PC too, in the same capacity (snarf!). Which would you choose?!
It's a done deal...
I'm a little shocked to see computers winning with such a huge margin, but at the same time not really. It's wild growing up and spending so much time in front of a television, and now the only time it seems I watch television is when I'm visiting my parents and have the luxury of a DVR so I can skip through the commercials. TV just doesn't cut it for me anymore.

Oddly true.
I used to watch TV all the time, but now only a few select shows yet my eye burn from the amount of time I spend on the internet.
gotta give it to the TV. i can play video games and watch TV at the same time, can't play video games and do PC at the same time.
So the big question, as consumers we're always looking at how we can consume media-- the computer is a viable platform for mass media consumption because in reality you can shop online, you can download music and movies, access thousands upon thousands of information. Now on the television side, there's also a lot of entertainment. Personally I am more of a PC than a television guy. But I also like to think that it's also due to being in the younger generation-- I noticed that the older population that grew up on the television enjoy it more than the personal computer. My father maybe spends most of his time on the television, and maybe one hour on the internet, maybe a little more on the weekend.progenitorvirus
PC wins.
With TV, you can watch TV.
Meanwhile, with a PC, you can also watch TV. As well as do a whole ****load of other things.
I have my PC plugged into my TV, so Im not real sure how Im supposed to vote.

Vote for PC.
Even if your PC was plugged into a computer monitor instead of a television set, you'd still be able to watch television shows. Meanwhile, if you were to take away your PC, then your television set would be extremely crippled.
Even if you have a PC hooked up to a TV, the PC is still by far the most important thing there.
I am a bit surprised too about how far large the computer is winning in this poll. At the same time though, the computer is really the best all in one entertainment device. Sometimes I think I'd be lost without my computer... so much work, productivity, entertainment, and so forth, it really just kills the television for me. My wife and I will watch television usually in the evening but thats it.
