Movies are great things, they can move us, teach us, make us think. So many times in my life have movies really effected me in postive ways. Got me thinking etc... Just the other day I was feeling a bit confused over why I couldn't get a girl from my past out of my head so that I could move on to this girl I've just met and really enjoy talking to. So I decided what I needed was an excellent movie to put things into perspective for me. Enter American Beauty, an excellent and uplifting film about how there is beauty all around us if we just take the time to see it. A certain quote from the movie where the "perfect" cheerleader girl is told that she isn't beautiful she's only "boring and ordinary" really got me thinking that this girl that I couldn't get over....she was the exact same thing. She is an incredibly attractive and pretty girl, but she is boring and ordinary, nothing really special. Where as this other girl is truly beautiful every part of her personality is great, and thanks to a film I have realised this and have now been able to move on. Sorry if that kinda ran on for a bit, but anyways, does anyone else have similar stories of movies truly effecting your life?

not really. I read books for that kind of thing, I go to movies simply for escapism. The only really significant thing a movie has done in my life is probably the first LOTR movie got me into reading JRR Tolkien. :)

I think I saw Little Miss Sunshine at the greatest time possible. It was at a time when I could really relate with Dwayne.

~-~What the hell?:P Anyways, I'm sorry but movies are too short to get reeeeeallly deep character development, depth, and anything else I need to be moved IMO. Now I'll admit, some movies did make me think (Pan's Labyrinth) but they weren't really life changing. That's why I like books and video games better than movies, they have a lot more time to build up for a truly deep and moving moment.~-~
