I have been burning some simpsons dvd. I burned season 9 and watched 2 episodes. they were okay but me and my friend thought they were not that funny and the Simpsons seem so popular. Were they just of episodes?

There is also a Simpsons movie, but if you want to see the Simpsons at thier best then watch seasons 1 - 5 or 6, after they they ran out of alot of material and it gets less funny from there on

Season 9 has one of the best episodes (my f avourite), Homer vs. New York City. If that wasn't one of the two, watch that one.

The Simpson's was once a great show, up until abou the 12th season. Then it just went downhill, and to rock bottom (Where it is now). But the old ones still make me laugh quite a bit, especially seasons 5-10.

I stopped buying the DVDs at Season 8. Anything after that is dipping into the "Getting bad era"

you are dead wrong. from season 7 on is gold until the last few years which haven't been that good. The episodes in season 1 and 2 don't even have any jokes in them.

as the seasons go on the show lost its funny. The new ones are not even worth watching in my opinion. I hope its just that they are saving the good material for the movie and making garbage shows but idk.

i think the huge number of episodes helps keep the show funny given the randomness of which episode plays when

Most if not all the episode's of the Simpson's from seasons 1 through 8 were total classics. Now seasons 9 through 18 have just a small handful of classic episodes IMO.

My opinion is that the Simpsons right now have some good episodes, but it's definitely not as good. The season premiere and the one were they go on vacation were pretty good, and they were just this season.
