[QUOTE="imaps3fanboy"][QUOTE="Ringx55"]How did God create the Earth in 6 days? Better questionRingx55
This is very much disputed.. in the bible numbers can be figurative. 6 days might mean 6 million years.. ( i dont think it was made in 6 days either). but I do think that he could have done it in 6 days if he wanted.

So, if thats true, he made the vegetation on the third day. And then the sun, moon and stars on the 5th day. No way life could be sustained for that many years without a sun.

Anyone, Christian or not, that takes that story literally has to be joking.

It has to be figurative. The concept of a day couldn't possibly exist until after the earth was created

When stuff like this gets passed on through generations it loses its real truth. If someone told me that god created the world in 6 billion days I'd probably put down 6 days for the lulz.

Christianity: jesus died for your lulz :P

someone please answer my question...pleaseGoPedroia
I am not an athiest but I don't think anyone really knows just how long ago the universe began. for one thing I don't believe we are capable of grasping the concept of a distance of time that large. you can see a string of numbers and think "gee that is a long time" but after a few months and years it really is meaningless and we have no idea. (universe or what ever you wanna call it) suffice it to say that no matter how the "thingiewhatser" got started it was awhile ago:wink:

Science is not trying to disprove God, in fact, it is trying to find "God", and understand "God".
