Number 1, number 2 coming a close second if I were a US citizen. Number 1 is a double edged sword though.

1st for obvious reasons. However some organizations (FCC) for some reason don't have to follow the 1st amendment.

They're all important, they insure our most important rights and freedoms. If I had to chose the most important it would be the first.

Number one, but aside from the Second and Third Amendments, which I don't think are as relevant now as they were in colonial times, I don't think any stands out as being singly more important than the others. They all play a part in ensuring equal protection of rights.

Hmmmmm...I don't think that phrase was uttered in that context, I think it means that government should fear disapproval, not that officials should fear for their lives. And what are you going to do with a gun? You can't change government policies by killing people, and in today's environment assassinations are a very tricky thing to pull off. The fact that everyday citizens have guns shouldn't scare politicians, that's what the secret service is there for. Skilled assassains with an agenda are what scare politicians, and the Second Amendment doesn't have much bearing on if they can own guns or not.

The FCC follows the 1st Ammendment.

But I'd say I like that ammendment a lot too.

9th Amendment: Protection of rights not specifically enumerated in the Bill of Rights.

10th Amendment: Powers of States and people.

topsemag55

Well let's see...

The 10th amendment I could care less about. It's thanks to the federal structure that our government can be so inefficient and incompetent at times.

9th amendment is too vague, so it goes too

6th and 7th amendments sound nice until you realize that most juries are comprised entirely of idiots

3rd amendment I don't mind going away. Our troops know how to party.

1, 4, 5, and 8 all basically keep the law off your ass, but taken seperately they're a lot less useful

2nd amendment lets me use guns. With the right weaponry you won't need the other 9 amendments anyway, so 2nd amendment wins :D

the reason we have that second amendment is because the british didn't allow us to have good guns and so we were oppresed the second amendment assures that if the goverment started to try to control us we would have the power to fight the goverment

Right, we could revolt, because a bunch of average citizens with AK's could take on armored troops, tanks, planes, naval ships, and evertyhing else the government has at its disposal. Face it, in a country with such a high level of militarization as ours revolution is impossible on the sort of grassroots level you're talking about. It's also counter-productive in a post-industrial society with such unprecedented access to politics.
