For TV, I think my favorite is The Golden Girls theme. For movies, one of the best has to be Adagio for Strings from Platoon.

Best Cartoon Themes: Silverhawks, Thundercats, Centurions, GI Joe, Gummi Bears, TaleSpin, Snorks, Inspector Gadget, Heathcliff, and last but not least Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.

Best Movie theme/music: Star Wars, Superman, Lux Aeterna (Requiem for a Dream), Bitter Sweet Symphony (Cruel Intentions), and last but not least Scotty Doesn't Know by Lustra (Eurotrip).

Best TV show Theme / music: True Blood, Dexter, Power Rangers (sick guitar!), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Smallville, CSI, Veronica Mars, and last but not least Cheers.

The lyrics for that song are so dark. Great theme song. One of my favorites is from that era, as well: The Streetbeater which is the theme for Sanford and Son.
