We nerds come in a lot of variations though. I am a rocker, stepfather and a nerd. And I am proud of calling me one. NERDS ROCK!

I think they mean nerd as in jerk/dork/dweeb/fool/moron. Or what people like to just call an ass. Sometime with a hole.That's what nerd means. They don't mean some urbandefinition.

But anyone who says stuff like that... is a nerd, just worried about what their nerd friends will think of them. Some people never grow up. People use to say the same**** about TV, computers,optical diskscable\satellite, PDA's,mobile phonesand the internet. But now everybody uses that stuff.

You are not a nerd for playing a video game of any sort it is just a overused statement to cover up someones insecurity of their own selves. Playing video games in itself is not at all nerdy and there's nothing wrong with it, the people that spend hundreds of hours a week playing and never go outside are the people put the stereotype on all those that do play games.

I wish too. From what I've seen they're no better off than anyone else.

I think those adults just aren't interested in console games and don't want to invest time in something they think is immature or not relevant to their interests.

Last I looked, I am an adult and I don't play console games. I won't say it is for nerds either. If anything, being a PC gamer, I am a bit geeky nowadays. Consoles just do not have the kind of games I prefer to play.
