Does anyone here sleepwalk/talk? I'm terrible for it :? When I was younger I used to sleepwalk all the time, sometimes even managing to unlock the front door and get out onto the street before my mum realised.

Nowadays I get these things where I wake up, see something in my room (like dark shapes and stuff flying at me) and get really scared and flick the light on. That's when I actually wake up - stood at the door with my finger on the lightswitch. It's different from sleepwalking cause I can remember it.

Last time I had them was on my 17th birthday - the first time I'd ever had them outside of my own room. I saw a metal bug crawling along the floor so I got out to look at it. I stayed there for a while crouched down looking at it moving before going to the loo and going back to bed. In the morning my mum was like "Wtf were you doing last night?". My brother slept talked that trip as well - he said "O'rate son" and went back to sleep

On tuesday night I popped my retainers in (I wear them every 3 days to keep my teeth from moving) and I had a dream that when I took my retainers out my teeth would come out with them. I woke up the next day and realized I wasn't wearing my retainers :? I must've taken them out in my sleep but because I was sleeping I can't remember what time it was so I'm having to wear them a day early o_O

I think I go through phases of stuff like this.

Anyone else have strange sleeping experiences?

Well, I suffer from sleep paralysis every now and then. It's pretty much the most terrifying experience imaginable. :)

I always wake up, look at the clock at like 12:00, and think it is the afternoon. I go downstairs turn on all the lights, take a leak, and go back to bed. I remember everything but I can't control myself

Only once that I'm aware of, but occasionally I have physical reactions to things that happen in my dreams. One time I dreamed that someone punched me in the stomach, so I kinda jolted backwards when he hit me and woke myself up.

You need to set multiple alarms. And make sure that one of them cannot be reached without getting out of bed.

yeah I think what you are describing is called Sleep Paralysis. Many people have stated they have seen ghosts or spirits due to it. (Which of course isn't true)

You can't move during sleep paralysis, hence the name "paralysis".

I never have gone sleepwalking. I have a few weird dreams though. Once, I dreamt that I lived in a cottage up on a huge mountain, that only had one room. It had a bath that had a bed in it, there were loads of crabs all over the floor, and there was sick in the fire place.

Yeah, sleeping is scary.

Well it may be a version of it is what I'm getting at. The reason Sleep Paalysis is because people are in a dream like state while they are half awake. This sounds like the same kind of thing only without the paralysis.

I think I've only sleep-walked once. I feel alseep in my bed, and woke up in my mom's car. She didn't even realize until she was backing out of the drive-way on her way to to work and luckily noticed me or else I might have been very late to school!

I used to sleep talk a bunch apparantly. I would say just jibberish though, and I could never remember my dreams from the nights when I apparantly was talking in my sleep.

I sleepwalked a bit as a child. only got out to the kitchen where I proceeded to try and drink out of one of my parents' cigarette packages (my mom was still up so its not like i would have walked outside) and she asked what I was doing and i said "drinking milk" and she took me back to bed and it never happened again. I have super vivid dreams sometimes, I find theyre more vivid when I sleep in pitch black, no lights whatsoever. I mumble and talk a lot. I used to yell at my sister and cousin in my sleep a lot, since I'm older now I don't have to be around them as much so I don't do that anymore. I verbally express what's going on in my dream sometimes, so when I sleep in a room with somebody else they often talk me back to sound sleep because im freaking out but sleeping at the same time.

I used to sleepwalk, but now I sleep like a log. I don't even move much in the night. Once I'm gone, I'm gone. However, if I have alcohol in my system I can do odd things in my sleep. I remember on a camping trip once, I was in a tent with my friends. We'd all had too much to drink, and two of the four of us went to the toilets. I was left behind with some girl because I wanted some shuteye. I fell asleep rather quickly. Anyway, next thing I know my two other friends come bursting in and I am lifting this other girl up by her hair. She was sleeping face-down, so I'd grabbed the back of her head. I woke up in such a shock that I leapt about ten feet across the 4 foot tent. God only knows what I was trying to achieve in my dreamy state.

Yeah, I used to sleep walk A LOT. I have heaps of scary stories about it, too.
Once, I walked to the bathroom and just stared at myself in the mirror with a really angry face on, for about 5 minutes before my older sister found me.
Another time, I walked into my sister's room and sat on the ground watching her sleep with my eyes open really wide.
Yeah... I'm kind of possessed.

I lucid dream, but whatever I dream about saying, I actually say.

When I found out, I was dreaming of a rape fantasy (no, I would NEVER actually rape someone, but most people have rape fantasies), and it was Yr 6 camp. I was 11. My friend heard what I was saying... Yeah, he bagged me about it for the rest of the year! :D

EDIT: I don't have rape fantasies anymore, I was just very young and curious. :)

Its basically what i believe being buried alive would probably feel like. Especially the first time you have it, you have no idea whats going on. But as it happens more, you know whats going on when it happens. Now whenever it happens im just like "Ugh not again :(" and try to lay there as calm as possible. Still really strange though. :P

I apparently wimper in my sleep. I'm worried, too. :P I do sometimes move but only small movements. Once I had mates staying over and they were playing a game, but then a loud bit came on. I apparently sat up, switched the TV off and went back to sleep. I apologised in the morning.

I used to sleepwalk all the time. I never got out of the house or anything like that but it was a pretty regular occurrence.

As far as sleeptalking, yeah, I've done that too. A couple of years ago, my parents told me that I was laughing in my sleep the previous night. For the life of me, I can't recall doing it but apparently, it was pretty freaky. Like I was possessed or something.

We did a lot about sleep in psychology and apparently it's really common to trip or something in sleep and jolt awake in the first stage of sleep.

And I wanna know what sleep paralysis feels like as well...I've never had it.

Lucid dreams are another thing I've never had - my mate Josh used to have them all the time and I was right jealous :|

Apparently if during the day you say "What time is it?" and check the clock, then check again it'll obviously be the same time. Keep doing this and eventually you might do it in your sleep but the clock time will be different the second time you look at it and you'll realise you're dreaming and have control. When I learnt about that I had a dream that night and I realised I was dreaming so I tried controlling it...and it didn't work :( So I dreamt I knew I was dreaming...
