You know what i hate? When people leave MSN (or whatever program you use) on overnight. If you're sleeping, you shouldn't be logged onto MSN. Same thing when people are always "away." If you're not there, why be online?

What else annoys you?

The most annoying for me is the same as the TC's. If people are away they should just be offline.

I hate it when people msg you saying "ARE YOU THERE???" when your status is Idle/Away/Busy and I also freaking dispise Nudges. I remember when I played Ragnarok Online I was doing WoE (War of Emperium, castle siege) and this dude on MSN nudges me, instantly bringing up the conversation so it blocked my window with RO open. The time it took me to close his convo made me die, losing half my money. I was pissed.

mine is always on, its almost always set to away, because for the most part i am not actually at the computer. I find it really handy to have on though. I come home from work, and there will usually be a couple of IM from people, all of them just heads up from people about plans for the weekend. or asking when a good time to hang out is. Its nice, because its nice for the unimportant things. Its faster to send then a text message! And it sure beats facebook!

well i disagree. How can someone being away from their computer possibly annoy you? There must be more of a reason than it just does.

==IM me. I dislike IM programs with a deep intensity, however to interact with friends I'm sometimes forced to use them. It's not something I like, and since the e-mail programs I use have IM features, I'm forced to log on for seconds and try and get all my mail read and responded to before someone notices I am on and messages me.

When you say "brb" because you have something to go do and because you don't come back within their "time frame" they start writing things like "Where did you go?? Are you angry at me?! Please tell me if you're angry. You're obviously busy. Bye." and then just leave. It makes me want to wring a few necks.

People constantly being in "offline mode" when they are there.. fine if they don't want to talk to people, but why keep wanting to talk to me? Just go in busy mode and don't talk to those you don't want to.. and if you constantly dont want to talk to those people, why are they on your list to begin with?

Nudges.. VERY annoying. YEARS ago when i used ICQ.. logging in to find hundreds of messages from various people that were sent while i was offline. (i literally had thousands of people on my list.. got ridiculous).

You know, I hate that on AIM you're allowed to IM people on their phones...So far on my plan, this month, I've sent, like, 20 messages, but I've received, like, 120...

It's because my idiot friend will IM me in the mall saying:

IM 1: ALIA!!

IM 2: Go on AIM!!!!!!

IM 3: PLEASSEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

Etc., before I can even reply saying I'm in the MALL and I have a LIFE unlike her...

People who abuse the nudge function.

People who sign in and out and in and out intentionally, so their picture the sign-in noise keeps coming up and going off and coming up and going off. Jeez, we get the idea...you're online, okay?

When people talk to you whilst appearing offline. Sometime, when they take a while to reply, it's like...are you even there or have you actually gone offline for good? It's impossible to know.

When people say brb and then just go offline for a ridiculous amount of time. As in...hours and hours. And you're just left hanging. This is meade even worse when they say "you'll still be here when I return, yeah?" and you say yes because you'd expect them back within the hour maybe, but nooooooooooo, it doesn't work like that now, does it?

When people think it's funny to invite everyone on their contact list into one huge conversation.

When people send those annoying wink things (thankfully, I've disabled them).

People who speak in text language so much so that it's virtually illegible.

And lastly, some people's screen names are just downright stupid. Like all the folk (usually girls, but not always) who think it's cool to have their names as something like "*name* iz luving him/her so mch rite now *heart heart heart heart*" except in symbol characters.

LOL is possibly the most annoying phrase ever. Those who use it in conversation should have their internet slowed down to 28 kbps.

IM programs are meant for talking to people. If you're in bed sleeping, why be logged on?

If you are logged out people are more aprehensive about sending you a message for you to see later (in many people's cases their IM and E-mail account are the same so it is more direct to use IM). If you log out, people can still send you messages for when you log on, but are less inclined to.

People that sit on msn with appear offline because they "dont want to talk to him/her" :?

The nudge .... :|

The way people manage to wake you up at 4am when you left msn on by mistake with 40 messages screaming " ARE YOU AWAKE!!??!!?!" .....

People adding their entire friends list to chat rooms and you get dragged in

People who leave their msn on constantly but are always "away"

These are just a few of the reasons why i try to avoid msn at all costs

Mostly the language. Once someone said to me in conversation "wubu2". I assumed this was some cutesy way of saying "love you too" since people often say "wub" instead of "love" when trying to speak like toddlers. I figured out eventually that it meant "What you been up to". I also hate nudges and winks, both of which I disabled, though I now use a client that doesn't support them. A friend of mine used to annoy me by exploiting a bug in MSN 7 that allowed you to nudge as many times as you wanted without being hit by the 9 second limit, until I disabled nudges. Thankfully now MS have prevented old versions of the client from connecting. Oh, and the screennames. They're either some generic song lyric or declaring their love for someone. Only a minor complaint really after I accidentally deleted half of my friends list, but I thought I'd bung it in nonetheless.

I absolutely HATE when people use emoticons for every other letter/word, the use of smileys every 2 seconds, little abreviations or acronyms for every sigle word thats to large for their incompitent little mind could handle, imagine this:

`~*^*~*~HI~*~*^*~` :D wats $$^UP^$$ ;):question::question:, Im jst (FLASHY)HANGIN'(FLASHY) out. 8)

I hope that drove you as crazy as it does me! expecially if it takes 10 minutes for some of the emoticons to load so you acctually only get the msg:

wats , Im jst out.

people who spend more then 5 hours a days on them.
