I saw this on the site that may not be mentioned recently. What happens if you remove the portals?

My best guess is that it turns into a circle or something.

Weird...I imagine while the portals are there that you could keep pulling it down like a never ending rope. When you remove the portals it probably gets stuck in the walls where the portals were placed.

It's impossible to weld them, cuz they can never get to touch each other. I win! :D

Then you just put another piece of metal in the gap and weld both ends together. You don't! :P

Oh, by the way... *hed asplodez*

I've always wanted to put an orange portal on the side of a skyscraper then a blue portal on a plank of wood. If anyone annoys me I hit them with it and *woosh* bu-bye.

I'd imagine it would be a never ending loop and you would have to create a new portal elsewhere, which might end with some of the matter being lost into another dimension beyond ours.

When you turn off the portal it severs the two "ends". The boy drew it out on paper for me, but the scanner is being mean!

I was thinking that. But, wouldn't that happen anyway if they hadn't been previously connected?

I've decided. The portals can't close until the bar moves, so you've effectively made them useless.

The boy explained it this way - the portal is "cutting" a little piece off one end, and putting it on the other end. He says people get confused because they think of the portal as a doorway instead of a two-way teleporter. I guess that make sense, so if you turned the portal off with the stick halfway inserted without gluing it together, you'd get two pieces. Right?

If I made a portal device, I'd include safety measures so it couldn't be turned off while obstructions existed. Organic or inorganic. If you could use it to cut, though, think about the perfection of the lines you could make.

It'll be split in two pieces if you don't wield the ends together when they meet.

It'd be like that cutter-disk thingy in Dragonball Z! The Japanese version with the blood.
