This Decade is drawing to a close: Looking back, how do you think it was?

Yes people 10 years, only seems like yesterday I was taking my first steps to 6th grade 10 years ago, I was 11, now in 2 more weeks I'll be on my way top 20 years, racking up the time. College, real life now, we seen the end of PS1, N64, and the Dreamcast, the end of the PS2, Gamecube and Xbox era, and we are now in the PS3, 360, and Wii era.

We've seen great tragedy, something that will be with us for the rest of our live's, we've seen great advances in our technology, the way we used the net. Everything is moving at high speeds now... EVERYTHING!

Now that you look back, how would you rate this decade... Why? How do you think we will be able to advance in the 2010's, and what needs to change in the next 10 years?

What are your plain optimism, are you pessimistic about our future? Just talk

It was eventful. I graduated from middle school, high school and college just in this decade. :lol:

06-09 are the best so far for me

The world is slowly going downhill, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was a poor decade in comparison.Not especially bad for me though.

It was interesting. So much happened, and there were a lot of evolutions of "pop-culture" in the past ten years.

Emos and 50 cent. Need I say more?

It was a lot of War on Terror kind of stuff.

It's safe to say 9/11 shaped the mood of the entire decade.

It sucked. It started out with 911, then I got divorced, then the war in Iraq, then Bush won again, the music for the most part has sucked, Hollywood is a joke, and CPU speeds seem frozen in time.

Well its my first full decade, and its had its ups and downs, for me personally and globally.

Probably a step back, terrorist attacks (9/11, London Buses, suicide bombings), enverimental crap has been blown out of proportion, popular music got worse. Yeah technolgy got better with things like MP3's, GPS's, HDTVs, better video games, better internet and other stuff like that got bigger (into an affordable, mainstream) but overall not the best. But can't be considered nearly as bad like the 60's maybe the 70's (racism, Vietnam, etc)

political wise - bad. war, terror, incompetent leaders and all that jazz

pop culture wuse - ....some good/awesome stuff....but goddamn high school musical, miley cyrus, soulja boy

cinema wise - besides abunch of crap, one of the best. we got many great brilliant movies this decade

personal wise - not bad, met some cool people

Sucked: 9/11, Katrina, the patriot act, the war on "terror". Rap became mainstream, emo became a fad, Rock music is dead to me(except for some bands) and if I see one more person in skinny jeans I will punch them in the face.clubsammich91

That's interesting, I hadn't really thought about it that way. I considered 2011 to be the beginning of the new decade but come to think of it I was wrong.

It has been... Okay. Full of ups and downs, as they say. Sorry for being so cliché, but hey.

It started off amazing then it all went downhill fast.

I've only lived two decades, but this one was obviously far worse. This decade we had a major attack on our country, two wars that are still going on, and the threat of nuclear war just keeps going up. Plus I went to high school this decade...

This decade was pretty meh. The advancements in cell phones, the internet, and computer speeds have been great but alot of bad things have happened.

If I remembered anything after 1996 I Might have something to say in this thread.

It started out good, like in 2000. But then there was 9/11, and the years just started to gradually get worse for me after that. The two worst years for me were 2006 and this year 2009 (this year being the worst actually).

Good until now :(

I've been through a lot this decade.

Some things I don't want to remember but others I do.

Ehh.. it was okay.

It was OK. Nothing special, nothing bad.
