It's no sign from god, it's most likely something that your friends set up, just pay no attention to it and believe what you want to believe.PPresentFortune
exactly, Your friends will do whatever it takes to 'change' you.

There we go, someone is agreeing with me. :)
Don't worry about him. My friend was an atheist for a long time (since 4th grade), and he was constantly teased in jr. high. Now he's one of the most well liked kids in the school (however he's now agnostic).
Don't worry about them.

So he essentially had to compromise his beliefs to get liked and stop being bullied? I'm not sure atheism was the main thing, becaues I'm Athiest, I flaunt the hell out of it whenever religion comes up, and, well, you've probably seen that high school thread.
all my friends are athiest too, except for one who is what i like to refer to as WAY too religious
as in, he walks around with a pocket sized bible, never swears, never fights, and never makes people feel bad. ive never actually met a "good" person b4
he scares me
its not a sign from God... its a sign your "friends" have spread word your atheist... and that they arent really frineds if they want to beat you up for that...muppet1010
You take what you can get. If your only friends want you to be Christian or horribly beaten up, take it. You can obviously outsmart them (they don't realize that bad events encourage atheism, in a way).
Well, if the Christians wanted to beat you up in order to get you to reaffirm orthodox beliefs, then you already how the Church operates historically. Sadly, many times, this is the way that religion converts--by the sword.

Not necessarily. Maybe he changed his views on his own. It doesn't mean that he changed in order to be liked.

Absolutely not. He is just changing. He just now thinks that it can't be proven one way or the other.
You also have to understand that we live in an extremely conservative-Christian town, and not being Christian is already compromising your reputation here, so he wasn't doing much to save himself.
:lol:I hardly now any religious people!.. All my friends are atheist and I'm the only one thats religious (however slightly)..
But if they want to beat them up tell them its not allowed according to the bible.. If they still want to beat you up..kill them.

The only people who belive in chistanity in the uk are peodphiles and priests but the margin between them is blurry.
But religion nowadays is no importance for religion

OK, this sounds like one of those situations where I'd have to meet them to understand, so I'll end it here.
If your friends want to beat you up because you have deifferent beliefs, they weren't your friends in the first place.
I am freaked out because could this have been a message from god? seeken_destroy
You aren't much of an athiest if that's all it takes.
The people that talked to you aren't your friends. If they were they would have been tolerant of your beliefs or lack thereof. I was an agnostic for a very long time, but eventually that changed and I believe in God (though not a religious person). You're "friends" might know the Ten Commandments, but they probably know little more about Christianity than that.
Spirituality is a journey without a destination, and it takes time; don't let people rush you.
