Anyone here seen this film before? I think its one of the best films of the decade so far. The director Shane Meadows is one of the best British directors around next to Danny Boyle, I also recommend seeing his film Dead Man's Shoes.

I saw a trailer for it last year. It looked really interesting, but I'm not sure if there were any theatres in the United States (where I live) that were showing it.

Its a very different film than those two, its more about racial tensions in England and the rise of the skinheads in the 1980s.

I totally agree. I even PM'ed you about because I was floored. This is England >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> American History X. I had never seen Stephen Graham in anything outside of Snatch, he was absolutely incredible in this.

He is one of the many underrated british actors that dont get much attention in the U.S. Paddy Considine is another one, though he was in the Bourne Ultamatum.

I found it too vulgar and "gritty" for my liking. I realise that that's the whole point, but it just seemed to me like the writers and directors wanted to parade around as much scum on screen as possible to the point where i genuinely started to feel repulsed by some of the characters.

I only watched the last bit but that seemed to be the most uncomfortable part by my best guess.

I think the word "uncomfortable" sums it up perfectly. Obviously most good films deal with unpleasant issues, but in this case it just went a little too far (for me at least) and didnt make for an enjoyable viewing experience at all.

I'm fairly sure he was just joking guys. Let's not get into any nation-wars here, as it'll only lead to further stereotyping and racial slurs which doesnt accomplish anything and will more likely result in people getting suspended or banned.

I'm glad my obviously sarcastic, completely idiotic rant pissed off one guy. My troll work is done. My God i didn't think it would be that easy.

I like how easily I'm labeled ignorant, then accosted with an almost incoherent rant, butchering the English language, while spouting the American stereotype. Way to stand up to the "ignorant American" XD. Ignorance fighting ignorance is key I guess.

There's a difference between sarcasm and bad taste. You can say offensive things and then say you were just kidding and didnt meant it, but that doesnt undo the fact that you said something offensive. It's not the responsibility of others to read offensive material and realise that the write doesnt mean it. It's up to you to make your intentions clear or better yet, not post offensive content in the first place.Ninja-Hippo

You didnt hurt my feelings at all. I even posted saying it's likely you were just joking. :? I'm simply telling you that stereotypes are never a good idea, even when joking. And you cant have a pop at other people for not knowing it was a joke. It's better to just avoid that sort of thing in the first place.

Sarcasm my friends, learn it.

An american leacturing a brit on english funny one. BTW this is an internet forum not oxford dictionary. Spelling popo = fail.

I really don't care when people can't spell properly. It's not a problem, I misspell things myself! *gasp*. But when you can't even use proper punction, or even basic grammer, it's hard to not laugh. And I thought the American education system was bad!

I know. I know. O god I apologize. I know every English man, woman, and child must have been so upset at my "tea and crumpets" joke. I apologize, forgive me dear England! I'm HORRIBLE, I'm EVIL.

Let this be a lesson to all! Tea and crumpets are off limits! It's sexist, racist, rude, belligerent, ignorant, and offensive.

I'm sorry.

Lol, silly Englanders. Movies are made in Hollywood. Not England!

Stick to tea and crumpets. Leave the excitement and action to us. ;)

Ahh an ignorant american i see. Why dont you take you silly big mac, shine it up real nice and insert it straight up your candy ***. England made your country so i would stfu right bout now unless you want to get an arse whoopin by the mugs that created you land of grease and fat.

Looks like someone is getting obsessed with the Brits .
