Weed should be legalized, seeing as it isn't nearly as harmful as cigarettes and alcohol.ghoklebutterI agree, but I do think it needs to be under the same laws as drinking. In other words no driving, can't do it in public settings, etc.
edit and possibly only being allowed to smoke it in a smokeless bong if it keeps bodily damage to a minimum
Well I will tell you my opinion on this. I am 19 years old I have never smoked weed, never smoked cigs or drank alcohol. If other people want to do that, that is their problem. It becomes my problem when I am walking down a street and a guys smoking a fatty and I am getting high off it when I have no interest in smoking weed. Also other people, not just me would have the same problem with it. If you want to smoke weed go to another country and do it, it does not need to be legalized so a bunch of people that for some reason NEED to get high can get high. Only plus it would have is the sale of fast food would go through the roof. CHOASXIII
That's not even part of the reason the government has been considering legalizing it.
1. If it's legal, it can be taxed, helping out the economy.
2. Cops can be used inforcing more important laws and protecting people instead of focusing on making sure people aren't smoking.
create a new billion dollar industry overnight.Legalize it, tax it, and restrict it just like alcohol.

I understand that, I am just giving my opinion on why I think it shouldn't be, not saying that there are not positives of it being legalized.i tolerate beer and wouldn't care if people were smoking weezyfb
Well, beer doesn't create smoke that can affect other people. Cancer arguments aside, because I haven't seen conclusive evidence on the negative effects of cannabis smoke, there is such thing as a contact high, even though in my experience the effects are minimal. I'd have no problem with weed being treated the same as cigarettes as far as public places are concnerned. It would be cool if ballparks would designate smoking areas, but that's their perrogative.
Also, as to him not getting thrown out, security at those places isn't equpiied to deal with those things, they're usually much busier bouncing rowdy and possibly drunk fans. If he isn't making a scene, he's not worth the trouble of dragging out. I've seen the same ttype of thing at concerts, you could do any type of drug imaginable (not that I would), and security wouldn't really care unless you started bothering other people.

Seriously.
Saw a special on TV about Mencino county, this county in California with very lax laws regarding marijuana.
A guy there owned a legal store selling legal marijuana. He paid $300,000 in state taxes and $600,000 in federal, IN JUST ONE YEAR!!!
