Honestly who do they think they are saying galileo was wrong? They even put him in jail for being smarter than that other phylosepher. If we could just bring back all those people who shunned him what would they say? Just like those people who burned joan of ark she was a brave person and a hero to her country but what did they do? Thats right they burned her at the cross.

Joan was burned at the stake because she was an enemy of England. It was for purely political reasons. She led a successful campaign against the english. What did you expect them to do with her? That's what happened to captured heads of state or rebel leaders in that time.

....at least that is what i was taught in history class I was taught differently. In seventh grade and in French I, since she was French. She talked to God and went on to be a knight so she could give Charles I (I think it was Charles I. I could be wrong) his right as king. However, seeing as how women in war was not considered right, she cut her hair and tried to make herself look like a man so she could. She was caught and was prisoned, then soon burned at the stake.
I just glanced at wiki and they said the english burned her because she was trying to recapture paris from them.

Yes. She recapture Paris for the king of France...or something similar. I haven't done research on her for a long time, my memory is vague. I just remember the small parts of what she has done.

That's how I remember it too, most people think she was schizophernic (I probably spelled it wrong), to explain the voices. She heard/talked to a few Saints, not just God.
