I haven't watched any of the recent episodes. But general over view: Sometimes funny; sometimes not.
I like this guy.South Park is the best. I have seen every single episode multiple times. South Park and The Colbert Report are the best shows on television.

I didn't watch the recent episode, I'm too busy to watch it on TV anymore so I just watch it on Netflix instead. But I am a huge South Park fan, one of my favorite TV shows (currently it's Breaking Bad, that show is the top dog), I think the show is pretty smart and while it's humor may be crude, it often has a good moral in it.
Also I like how the show has no agenda, unlike Family Guy which I stopped watching because it went super liberal and militant atheist. I want to laugh, not get preached to! Plus Family Guy's humor is more forced and just random, like the scraping knee thing, it's NOT funny so stop showing it every episode!
It's funny this thread is up... I caught last nights episode only because my friend was over and I was channel surfing... real funny episode. Cartman is still my favorite douche and going to set my DVR for the future new episodes.
Love this series.
I think it's one of the greatest allegories going but no one has the sense to see it because of the toilet humour.
Example? Gooback episode. One of the funniest episodes, but points quite accurately to the issues of immigration and the problems it could potentially pose.
Another example? Paris Hilton episode. Teaching young minds that following trends can be harmful to your development and future life ambitions.
I wish people saw it for the brilliance that it is!
Yes I understand that not all episodes are gems, but hey, it comes with being a comedy central production.
recent seasons not very good, and the meming episode was pretty bad, they could have made an awesome episode on it.
i havent watched any of the episodes since that once, but i expect they're not much better
Not even really worth watching anymore. It used to be funnier when I was younger. Back when I was probably 'too young' for it, it was great. The same for Family Guy. Once you're old enough that it's age appropriate, it just goes downhill. I keep trying to hold onto it because of the nostalgic value, but it's really difficult because it kind of sucks nuts.XilePrincessIt's strange because what you said is pretty much true, but the real strange part is that my parents (both over 50 years old) love Family Guy and Tosh.0 (just to throw in examples) and think they're freaking hilarious. Like you said: They (not Tosh.0, South Park and Family Guy) were funnier when we were younger. Though I find them funny (not so much Family Guy anymore) now because a lot of the jokes I didn't understand as a kid, but do now lol.

I agree, alot of people don't notice the bigger message in the show. It usually has a great meaning, like the Ginger episdoe, it was about discrimination and how it's wrong, but some people misinterpreted that and started a "kick a ginger" day and now people with red hair are acting like they are their own unique minority group lol.
I wish people saw it for the brilliance that it is!justletmesignupI know I do :D.
The episodes that (as you pointed out) point towards things that are going on in real life are the episodes that I find are the funniest. The episodes that they seem to make up themselves (the latest episode for example) don't seem as funny to me.Yes I understand that not all episodes are gems, but hey, it comes with being a comedy central production.

And yes sadly, it is because it's a Comedy Central production...The only shows they play that don't seem to be "failing" are the Daily Show/Colbert Report. Though I can say I enjoyed Workaholics for it's stupidity lol.
I still laugh at South Park.. I think it has actually gotten better which I can't say for many shows that have lasted 16 seasons.. The toilet humor is hit or miss along with most of the episodes but when South Park is good, its memorable, twisted, and downright hilarious
