I've got nothing against the guy personally, but do you find his show entertaining?

It just seems that he tries soooooooo hard to pretend that he is laughing his head off over every little thing and having the time of his life. There just seems to be about ZERO genuineness about it.

I was never a huge fan of letterman, but at least he seemed more real.

Conan is the only late night host I enjoy watching. Kimmel and Fallon are the two worst of them all.

Jimmy Fallon is boring and seems really forced. Doesn't feel genuine at all.

@thereal25: stop trying to copy every youtube commenter. don't be a dick rider. he's having fun. he's the host of the tonight show. nobody wants to tune in and see a depressed hack.

I like him and am glad he took over the Tonight Show. It's funnier and more creative than a lot of other talk shows, late night or otherwise. And It gives me something funny to watch every night and I like that he's happy, not a cynical old jerk who phones it in.

I think Fallon is hilarious, to be honest. Far more creative than some of the others.

I think he does great job. I have read articles where they have talked to people who know him and I guess that he is always like that, just super positive and high energy, and everything is great attitude guy ~

The other Jimmy is pretty good too.

@midnight is the best show~

I think it's a big upgrade for late night. I personally enjoy his show, it'll be interesting to see how late night changes when Colbert moves into Letterman's role.

He gets notable guests, but he is a terrible interviewer.

his skits and the games he plays with the guests are fun to watch, but the actual interviews themselves aren't interesting in the slightest.

My favorite right now is just Conan...

Used to be Craig Ferguson but he left now....his show had the best everything.

Its funny to a point but I always loved the barebones approach of Craig Ferguson (who is gone now), and Conan's self deprecating humour. Both of them were fairly unknown prior to hosting so they also have that underdog aspect. They didn't rely on expensive skits or famous cameos.

lol, no, I haven't been watching any youtube commenters about this. It was purely just my opinion after watching a few episodes.

Now I get that he has to be upbeat and all, but is there such a thing as going too far?

To me it's all dull. Except perhaps for the guests that he somehow manages to reel in.

I never found Leno funny. His "Leno's Garage" show (I saw it on Youtube, not sure if it originated there) was far more true to form for him. He knew what he was talking about and made things interesting.

I think another factor here might be how "familyish" it is. Like they're constantly on guard not to say anything even remotely politically incorrect.

It's just not funny.

I'm not too familiar with many others talk shows but I'm sure there are a couple of decent ones out there.

Leno pre 9/11 was great. Conan pre tonight show was great. Colbert was always better than John Stewart. Letterman always reminds me of an old man, who suffers from violent mood swings. One moment your laughing, having a great time, then the guy just gets pissy out of no where. But now that everything has been shaken up, I just watch Kimmel, will probably change my mind after Letterman finally leaves. The way NBC handled the Conan debacle pretty much killed the Tonight show. Doesn't matter who the host is, I try to stay away from that network altogether.

Some of Fallon's positivity is a little over the top but a lot seems genuine. And does it matter if he is really actually happy? It's Hollywood. I'd rather watch something more positive and funny than other hosts who make it painfully obvious that either they don't give a crap, or that aren't actually funny but think they are.

Humor is subjective anyway. Can't please everyone.
