Thoughts on the movie, Taken?

Assuming you guys have seen it... I don't really hear much about this movie, and everyone I know IRL have never even heard of it, with my family being the exception.

I really liked this movie, and I was just a tad irked when I saw it only had a 58% on RT. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat.

C'mon, this movie had Liam Neeson in it, being a bad-ass, vengeful, unstoppable killing-machine. He doesn't look half bad, either... :oops:

It had it's weak points but overall it was a good film. I mean... Liam Neeson, come on!

For those who've seen it, what do you think of it? Why?

my friend was hyping it up that its amazing then i rented it and it was aight, i gived it a 8/10

It was the first Liam Neeson film I'd seen other than Batman Begins, I find his voice very annoying and if I remember right he spoke a lot throughout the entire film. By the end I thought it was a pretty generic action film with an old protagonist that happened to have annoying dialog.

Ok movie. Bad ending but it's worth a rent.

Fun stuff but nothing remarkable. 6/10 is about right, me thinks. Liam Neeson is cool and all, but the action wasn't the greatest. Also, the sound effects were really wimpy.

I caught a special preview at the cinema as per kind courtesy of a mate - thought it was kind of bland - one of those films you watch again a few years later when it pops on the telly and it's like 'I think I may have seen this before but can't be sure'. Forgettable really.

Everyone I know told me how good it was, I thought it was kind of boring. It tried to be serious, but at the same time lacked emotion. The action was kind of boring as well. The least they could have done was make the one girl upset that her best friend died. It just seemed like a lifeless movie. I don't mean to put anyone down who likes it (as it seems a lot of people do) but it just wasn't my thing. I do wish he'd be in a new movie that lets him act since he's actually a good actor.
