It might be a bit difficult concept to wrap your head around but time does not exist. Time is a measurement invented by humans just like meters, and kilometers. So therefore time travel simply cannot exist.serb1030Prove it.
Prove that humans invented time? Cavemen didn't know if it was 6 P.M.
And then eventually peopel invetned sun dials and such.
serb1030
Those are methods of interpreting time, that is not time itself...

That just means humans invented a way of measuring time, of quantifing it.
Your argument is as inane as claiming distance doesn't exist, because humans invented ways of measuring it. Oh, wait. You already did.

Bingo.
Your wrong, you still haven't proved that time is an invention.Prove that humans invented time? Cavemen didn't know if it was 6 P.M.

nice logic, BUT, time travel can exist (if we ever find how to do it), but as far as i know it would only be possible to go back in time, since the past has already happened... and unless the future is pre-determined, we cant travel to the future... this time travel stuff is very confusing, yet it is very worthy of discuss..sandroDX
I think its all so confusing because we don't know anything about time, you know what I mean?

When you discuss time travel there are infinate possibilties and questions such as is there one solid timeline or trillions etc.
That's what I meant.
NO.

How definite are you in belief that time doesn't exist? You're getting confused here.. you are confusing the invention of the measurement of time with the invention of time itself, which we did not do.
The measurement of time was inevitable; a global society like the one we have made today is impossible to build and maintain properly without the measurement of time.
If time travel CAN exist, then why aren't we visited by people from the future yet?rubenbos007
Time travel DOES exist. It's just a one way street, though.
Lets apply your logic to other things and see if it makes sense...
Length is a measurement humans invented to measure distance, therefore length does not exist. If Length doesn't exist, I guess its impossible to go anywhere.
Nope, doesn't make a lick of sense.

Why hadn't I thought of that . . .[QUOTE="IndianaJosh"]meters and kilometers measure distance, are you saying distance doesn't exist?Axed54
You might want to re-think your answer. You're making his point, standard measures exist because we all agree to accept them.
The measurements don't matter. It's the existance of distance that matters.
It doesn't matter whether we measure time by hours or sticks of incense or the position of the sun. What matters is the existance of Time in the first place.

No, he means that just because we measure something doesn't mean we invented what we are measuring.
If we hadn't measured distance, would distance exist? Of course it would. Same thing with time.

Man, I told that to my parents long ago and their first reaction was to tell me videogames make me stupid.

Thus, you can instantly (esp since time doesn't exist) be anywhere in the universe and can't be burned by fire, since temperature is measured by humans. Look, units are defined by humans, but there is something being mneasured. Why do people have such a hard time with this?
