We ought to find alternate energy sources or drill inANRWR and purchase oil from stable countries.

It's easier to declare war but the costs are staggering. Unless Iran attacks us, directly or indirectly, we shouldn't declare war. Instead, we should try diplomacy. First thing we can do is lift the sanctions which have always been proven to be unnecessary and detrimental to everyone.

Also, as someone said earlier, it's those damn oil speculators.

I'm pretty sure the US doesn't take oil imports from Iran. Trade sanctions and all.

Though, I find it funny one of the most corrupt countries in the world with one of the worst human rights records is best of friends with the US and supplies them with most of its oil needs. And the US just turns a blind eye to it all.

Invading countries won't solve anything. And Iran will fall apart eventually. People only tolerate totalitarian regimes for so long, then they get angry and overthrow them. Tunisia, Egypt and Libya are already on their way... and before fundamentalists took over in Iran, they were one of the most progressive and "civilized" Islamic nations.

Many believe that there's actually more oil in Alaska now than there is in the Middle East. If we even just sayed that we would gas prices would probably drop before we even started drilling. Their whole economy depends on it.

I agree with this. But, in the mean time we need to tap into our own oil resources. This will give us freedom from "big oil tycoons" and create thousands of new jobs. It will also give us much cheaper gas prices which will stimulate the economy because we will have more to spend in other areas. It blows my mind that this hasn't been done yet. We're already at the mercy of these oil companies, it's time to turn the tables on them. We're also at the mercy of China with all the money we've borrowed from them. Drilling here and now will allow us to start paying them back, and any other country we owe money to.

An enemy to the economy is an enemy to the state seems to be the mentality drifting through this thread. We salute those brave military men and women who died to protect our unalienable right to cheap oil.

Other countries invaded Iraq in addition to USA. I was referring to a single country invading another. USA had allies even in 2003's invasion.

Saturos, what are you talking about? Liberals are the ones who push for the US to stop policing the world and stop propping up dictators. Conservatives are always the ones who want to stick their noses into others' problems. Remember who was clamoring to go into Iraq?

And don't worry. Barry or anyone else of consequence is not going to read a gaming website populated by a bunch of kids to get any sort of insight.

Use alternative energy sources. Besides, invading the middle east to try and do something about their oil is the worse thing the U.S. can do. If OPEC decides to give the U.S. an oil-block, you simply won't be able to buy gasoline, at any price.
