Time is the linear measurement of sequential events.

Its not real per se, just something that us humans have made, in a way to measure days and such.

ive always thought it was just something we attributed to make since of the changing of the days. like we say in the morning it would be say 9:15. the 9:15 doesnt actually exist, just something we made up to keep track of the different periods of daylight and such.

It is the past, the present and the future. Our measurement of it is what we could deem as just a creation to put order in the events that occur.

As for parallel universes we will probably never know. According to some quantum mechanics theories they could exist but that field is generally quite controversial so no real conclusion can be made.
