Anyone know how to gain weight in a healthy manner. I increased my calorie intake from 2800 to 3200 about two and a half weeks ago, but I've only gained 1 pound. Any thoughts would be appreciated?

Nobody knows how to put on weight like a sumo wrestler...
Wake up before dawn. Eat a light breakfast. Train for 5 hours to build up an appetite. Eat a huge lunch. Take a nap right after eating.
A pound a week is a healthy gain in a week. What you can do is up your caloric intake, sleep more and train as hard as you can (strength training). I'm assuming you want to gain muscle mass.
Step 1: Eat more Step 2: Move lessspazzx625
This is actually good advice. I just read to limit arobics as much as possible.
I'm currently working on moving up weight as well. I started eating 6-8 portions of carbs/protiens a day as well as 2-4 portions of vegetables a day. Also an important tip is to not overtrain, work as hard as you can at the gym every 2 days or split up upper/lower body. I also use acompetitionlegalweight gainer shake called mutant mass that has helped wonders.
Get married. It worked for half the women I know.Big_Bad_Sad
So true, lol
Oh yeah, by the way are you trying to get fat or strong?
Eat a steak, followed by a hamburger smoothie, three times a day, you'll be fat in no time.Im_singleAnd probably dead.
[QUOTE="magicalclick"]Oh, how I envy you. Eat many deserts if you like to get fat.FamikingIt doesn't work that way, his body will just burn it off. The trick is to increase calorie intake (and not unhealthy stuff) + exercising. It's just as hard as weight-losing.
Man, it's MUCHharder for me. I can lose the weight it takes me 4 months to gain in like a week.

haha, this is actually the cause for me being underweight. I would usually eat sweets in order to keep me up. I slept2-4 hours a night for over 3 months and lost 25 pounds. I'm clean now though so now I have tons of time to work on my body

When I used to play I lost about 10 pounds because I sat at my computer for hours at a time, forgetting that I was hungry :P. Im really glad I traded in World of Warcraft for Xbox Live and Gamespot Forums :P.[QUOTE="freeride_123"][QUOTE="Cone_Zone"]Play World of Warcraft.Moroes

You are just like me. If I miss most my meals in a day i will without a doubt lose more than a pound. Im trying to gain weight too. Its been four weeks and I gained about 5 pounds, but Im a whole lot strong because I been lifting like crazy.
ifd your extra calories are coming from mcdonalds and junk food, you're not helping. MEAT MEAT MEAT, PASTA PASTA PASTA and lots of supplements. there's something that you mix into drinks for bodybuilding that's chocolate flavor and that'll help you gain weight.XilePrincess
Mcdonalds can help. The burgers have lots of protein.

hahaha same with me..Im just like you TC, my body can burn all my fat in a matter of blink. a 2 months of work into gaining weight could be all lost for a few days. Also, even when I do continue in my "eat as much as you can" order I could be still losing weight
You see, the best of us has a certain amount of body fat that is considered standard and that's where we stop if you are not working to gain weight
The only way I could gain weight was using the "sumo wrestler" idea, just like someone mentioned in 1st page. Consists of heavy exercise during the morning ( I usally go surfing from 7am to 1pm) and then eat all you want all day, and believe me you will want to eat a lot, and the best part of being us, we never really get obese, we just get stronger
