I already know all of this, and I'm a gamer. Boy, I miss my hardcore times. I take breaks to settle things in life and then go back to gaming when the craving for gaming starts to kick in. It's in my blood. Either that or I put less time in gaming.

Wow. Was this supposed to be informative or something?

It really took him that long to figure that real life and family should take priority over video games?

Video games aren't the reason he was overweight and lost his wife. Those were direct effects of choices he actively made..though I'm sure he feels better placing the blame on the evil games he was being forced to play.

What a pathetic video. A guy screwed up his life because he was too lazy and weak to do anything but entertain himself and now he comes and "...bu..bu...not my fault ....games made me do it"
Get a grip you damn loser, if there would be no videogames you would find just another excuse not to do anything worthwhile with your life, the problem isn't gaming, it's you

If you abuse anything to that extent, it is generally not good for you...

I enjoyed it. I would say that before you guys go off on a tangent saying that the guy is lazy, anti-social, and never had any potential to do anything the instance he came out of his mother's womb should consider the fact that depression plays a large role in the effects of gaming. Is depression something that can be controlled? I wouldn't say so - it could perhaps be inherited genetically - or even just become a part of his psyche through a traumatic upbringing. The point is that some people play video games and stay enclosed in an anti-social environment because they're depressed. If making a movie to get out of this funk is what it takes, I say good for him - perhaps the message will reach somebody and effect their ways positively instead of having internet thugs bashing his life.

Nothing wrong with the message. It's good to be reminded about the time you're wasting doing any activity, but none of the stuff he listed sounds even remotely appealing. If only a video like this had been made about the amount of time I was wasting at school studying geography or German.

It's a good video but this also aplies with everything that you over do. Drugs, studying, video games, etc.

There needs to be balance in life but it is very hard to achieve that when time is very limited.

Yeah, that's fair to assume that anything overdone is harmful. I could see where he is coming from, I mean I know I have spent thousands of hours playing video games and am quite aware of that; however if he is trying to wake naive people up and ask them the question, "is this what you want?", then good for him. I mean... I could make that video if I wasn't so lazy... doing other things... like playing video games. :D

So basically the moral is that video games should be played in moderation? Okay, cool, I'll care what that guy has to say when he can tell me something I don't know. I'm also a little confused as to what makes reading more worthwhile than playing video games. His arguments rely on the fact that video games are not "real life," yet what makes books more so? And before anyone attacks me ad hominem and says I don't like books, I've got a bookshelf with over 100 books (ranging from King to Tolkien to Dante to Hemingway) sitting about 5 feet away from my desk.

Passing the blame..

Hmm this feels a bit outdated, since people now waste lots of their time on their pointless phones and on certain websites doing useless memes and such. So yeah..
