to anyone who's worked in telemarketing...is it as bad as i think it will be?

My friend works as a telemarketer and from what he says, yes you do get yelled at everyday. You also are not allowed to hang up on the person. Plus you have to have decent sales to keep the job.

The pain of selling your soul varies from person to person.

Telemarketers are the reason I don't have a house phone anymore.

At first it isn't that bad but give it a couple months and you will wake up every morning thinking about how hanging yourself would be a better choice.

Well...does it really matter if you hate the job?

I mean...you expect to hate the job but you took the job anyway. Why? I don't know, but I'm assuming because you NEEDED to get a job.

So...yeah it's probably gonna be a sucky ass job. You'll probably hate it. The real question is if you have the LUXURY of not taking the job.
