I've been playing guitar for 3 months now, and I've realised I don't know any good solos. Can you guys reccommend me some easy guitar solos? I want to learn something reasonably easy that sounds impressive, just so I can show off to my friends haha :P

By easy, I don't mean as easy as stuff like the solos from Smells Like Teen Spirit, Californication or Freedom. I'd like to learn something a bit harder than that, and something that sounds better.

What are you talking about? If I was showing off, then I wouldn't be asking for EASY solos...

Don't really know, I can play all the easy stuff I listed in the first post, and solos of a similar level. But I'm pretty sure I can handle something more challenging than that, just not anything too difficult.

I always did the harder stuff first, that way with my timing getting faster, along with movements, the easier stuff was...well...even easier. :D

You should learn some scales first. Since most solos are based off scales, solos will be much easier if you learn the scales first. I'd suggest learning the penatonic scale first.

Ill tell you my favorite solo if you promise to try it, and listen to the song.

Its by NIN so its not too hard, but its the song that made me want to try guitar for some reason. Its really expressive i think, but in order to learn it youll have to hear the song.

Tabbed solo

I've been playing for 15 years. I very seldom cover songs. I rtecord on digital multitrack. I basically just take my influences and they mix together in my head. Then I play it out on track. If you want to learn some great solos with feeling, study dabid gilmour of pink floyd. He has a lot of expression.

Hmmm, the melodies in Nemesis by Arch Enemy are really nice and NO I don't mean those two insane solos. And My Apocalypse by Arch Enemy, they're both melodic and beautiful. :)

Sweet Child 'O Mine is fun to play. I'm also learning Johnny B. Goode, it's a pretty fun one too.

I've been playing for 4 here so im not much more experienced then you. Ones I would recommend: - Stair way to heaven (you may already know it. The solo isn't all that hard and it sounds amazing) - You mentioned RHCP so imma assume you like them :P. Aeroplane is a good solo, scar tissue as well if you like slides. - the solo in Tell Me Baby is pretty easy if you have the right effects. - Peace Of Mind by Boston is a really epic song and has alot of cool runs that act like mini solos. the actual solo is pretty moderate to do as well. It's hard to say what you find easy since you could have played for 3 years but practiced religiously or been kinda lazy like me :P

Just look up some basic scales and learn to improvise. It's way more impressive.
